I noticed one of my villagers starts randomly running away. No one is trying to breed with him and he is not near any of the things he dislikes. weiirrdd...Has this happened to anyone?

I had that happen in an early game, and for the life of me couldn't figure out what the villager was running from... turns out one of her dislikes was snakes, and though I never saw any, I have to assume she did.

What do you have the villager doing? Typically they run away from things they don't like, such as a farmer running away from bushes or a would-be doctor running away from herbs. See what you have the villager doing, check to see what his dislikes are, and most likely he's running away from that.

And bajantara, I've never had a villager who ran away from snakes... maybe your villager was eating a few too many mushrooms? LOL

That was the only thing VI, I think it was, and I could come up with... since she'd be, let's say, by the laundry, with noone in sight for miles, and she'd suddenly take off like a hound out of hell. I remember it would only happen if she were set to be a farmer, but no other dislikes (or likes) were listed besides snakes.

I sometimes think villagers have likes and dislikes which are not spelled out so we can see them.

I also think abilities are the same way. For example, in one of my games after I got a school and tapped on the drum a few times I bred a Master Scientist to a Master Scientist and according to the villager detail screen the resulting child had no skills, yet that child became an adept so fast it surprised me.

I started a new game today, and this time I had my villagers learn things all at once. Giggle. I had all six clustered about the same herbs and things the doctors study. One gal became a trainee before we made it to the cactus. Same with the research table, and berry bush. All made trainee status at different rates, making me think they do indeed have skills that we have to find out on our own. Which keeps my interest \:\)

Update on my Amazon Tribe; the villiage was hit by a storm, then moldy food. The storm wiped out the food bin and my little tribe had fight to gather crops. All but a ten year old girl(Spice) and a adept builder (Dan) survived. Because I set the whale free early on in the game, they had the spiritual points for Dan to bury the dead. When Spice was 18 and Dan was 40, as much as I hated it, I had to mate the two. Dan just died at 57. They had five GIRLS. Can you imagintion; six women on the same island and no chocolate?

I've got three villages and my first one was down to just two villagers - one female and the GC - when I looked yesterday \:\( . I checked again this morning and I still had the same female and the GC BUT I also had two skeletons lying in the middle of the village! I can't work that out at all!

Umm, you mean that all but those two *died*? And you gotta love when your hope for an island turns into despair. I remember an island I was challenging myself with where the father had 3 sons before he and his mate died. Unfortunately, I didn't slow time down for them and the village perished. ;_;

Remember the poor Hard Tribe, where Ponui Jr. was 66 when the two girls finally became mature enough to have daughters. <bows his head in respect>

It is the memory of Ponui that inspires me. It maybe a vain hope, but it would be nice to see a crate of male babies or a male farmer come out of the woods. Spice is now 35. The oldest girl Elana is 16. Ilan is 14. Alane is 12 and Zain is 7. And still no chocolate.

Little Zena is now 42. The girls yesterday afternoon buried their mum Spice next to their father Dan. She was 67. This morning Zena found a well-perserved crate. inside a two year old, raven black haired girl. Zena named her adopted daughter Raven.

I had one like that very early in my first game. I thought he was hilarious.

OMG, the curse continues... if only you had pics of this so we could make another story like that of the Hard Tribe! Given enough info though I'm sure we could come up with a good narrative.
