There are times when one's computer crashes or otherwise goes wacko, and all your villages are in danger! These are Island Quakes.
I've had two Island Quakes. Fortunately, all the villages survived both.
Late November 2006 Island Quake:
The adaptor on my Pentium 3 laptop burned its little circuits to a mess. No access to my computer for two weeks due to very low battery power. Shockingly, all three villages - Rainbowfish Village, Altair Village, and Mintaka Village survived, though not without losses. Rainbowfish Village and Altair Village both lost 50% of the population. Mintaka survived with 80% of its population intact.
After the Quake, some lone villagers from Altair set up Altaira Village.
New Year's 2007 Quake:
The supposedly new adaptor began to degrade, and would only work in one outlet. As a precaution, the Goddess called forth an Ice Age onto the island of Isola, petrifying all Isola villages - Rainbowfish, Altair, Mintaka, and fledging Altaira - in Time. The Goddess copied critical information about all the Villages into the Abyss called the Flash Drive. Just in case.
Sure enough, just a few days later, the quietly strengthening Quake hit, and displaced the entire Island of Isola. Isola's Villages floated in the Abyss of the Flash Drive for two weeks, safely Petrified in Time.
The Goddess found a new home for the poor Villages, and 22 Sunrises after the Winter Solistice, she sent away the Ice Age and thawed out the Villages. The Goddess told the villagers that their entire Island had been moved from planet HP Pavilion to planet Toshiba Satellite, and that it was a much better home for them.
Lo and behold, the villagers were so happy with their new home on Toshiba Satellite, they moved with surprising speed.
Which just goes to show what the difference between a laptop with .75 of a gigabyte and a laptop with 2 gigabytes of memory makes!
