I get first for my techs? I'm still on a level one for all of them. I was thinking food, right?

It depends on what strategy you want to use.

Generally food is the best choice for first tech.

Sometimes I try to stretch it to get the science tech first, then food tech, but that is much more difficult.

I always use food as my first priority until they start to farm and fend for themselves. Then I love to build up those tech points. Good luck.

Since I have played so many different villages now, I like to challenge myself to get the science tech first.

In my first games I always got food, then science, then meds. Doing it that way, I ususally have a Master Scientist or three before I get the science tech, so that when I do get it, those points just skyrocket.

I agree. For a beginner, the Farming tech is the best start. But I also like to get Science, and even Medicine if I can, early in the game.

I never get Spirituality until I have a dead skeleton that needs to buried. And Building waits until I get L2 & L3 at once. (unblocking the creek only encourages the laundary )

Well, depending on how much your village grows, getting L2 in Building isn't necessarily a bad thing. You can get a builder to start a second hut with patience at L1 and 13 villagers, but you can't get the third hut built without L2 in Building. But yeah, I like to get Farming L2 first and out of the way, then test to see how far I can stretch things out in getting the other techs. ^^

The huts are dependent upon population, not building tech. You could build all three new huts at L1 of Construction if you wanted to. You just wouldn't be able to do many of the puzzles.

I hadn't thought of that before. I think I know what my new last techs will be!

My last is still the Fertility Techs. But I can be clearing the creek and watering the patch while collecting those points. Then I'll be ready to dunk a mama once the Ferticlity is done and finish everything else up quickly.
