It's not all that unusual to see the same event in different games at nearly the same time.

I discovered VV about three months ago now. I remember that my very first event in my very first game caused a villager to wander off into the jungle, never to be seen again. I got the same event in my second game, but this time made the safe choice, benefitting from my unfortunate earlier experience. I've never had the event again.
