I haven't watched every time, but I've noticed that when I've dropped a master farmer into the lagoon if he or she dives underwater twice the VV comes out with the magic fish of fertility. If s/he only dives once, they come out with nothing and I have to try again. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, although the fish is put in the food bin, the food count doesn't go up.

I didn't! but i hav noticed the food count dosen't go up.

Boy Arnie, I have not noticed. But I think I have had villagers go under twice and not come up with it. I'll keep a better eye on it next time.

And your second point is correct. I thought it would be a nice added bonus if you got a few hundred-food points from it.

I think it is the other way around... If they only dive once they come up with nothing, but only some of the times will two dives find the fish.

I also noticed that about the food count not increasing.

I've always noticed the two dive thing too, and in particular I keep throwing him back if he only makes one dive. Interesting aspect to keep an eye on...

Since posting about this on 14 December I've played through about half a dozen games. I've carefully watched the master farmer in the lagoon and, without exception, if they dive twice they come up with the fish, but if they only dive once they are unlucky and have to be re-dunked.

I never noticed that. All I know of is no extra food and more than 1 villager can get it sometimes.

I had the opportunity to watch the phenomenon myself, and it did indeed take my villagers two dunks before catching the fish!

More than one villager can catch the fish, however, as soon as the first one makes it back to the food bin, a celebration begins and everyone comes running, dropping whatever they happen to be carrying. This means that no more than one ever gets to the food bin.

I wonder what would happen if you managed to get two people to deliver it at the same time?

Maybe you should get a normal master farmer and another one who hates crowds and try to get the normal farmer to get the fish first then try to get the crowd-hater to fish, and maybe you could get them both to have a fish.

I't would take a miracle to get 3 fishes of fertility.Unless anyone has more crowd hating master farmers

that might work. have to keep an eye out for a crowd hater in my next game
