Once a villager doesn't keep getting injured before they can heal, they'll eventually get back to full health. Manually feeding them gets them back there faster so you can get them to research/build if that's what's needed. Just check your researchers and builders regularly, and move them to farming/healing for a bit before they get down to weakened stage. Glad everything went well
