Hello, I'm new here. Want some help from expert users.

My game's going about 32 hours now and I have this weakened villager that doesn't regain his health no matter what. He was initially a trainee scientist: through event his age was down to 12, and again aged so now he's 20. Right after he reached 14 he walked to the worktable on his own feet. A few hours later I checked his info to find that his health bar came down to about 55% although his health bar indicated his status as 'healthy.'

I remembered reading about being a researcher unhealthy job or something like that here, so I reassigned him as builder. (Idiot me. :?) Again a few hours passed, and when I checked again his health bar came down to 30% and 'weakened.' At first I thought this as illness and brought a master doctor to him, and they made wetty kissing sound and headed to the love shack in one go. (And when I actually tried to get my girls pregnant I had to try again and again...)

So I have searched here quite thoroughly for any healing method or job recommendation, but:

a. Giving him food manually or let him swim in the lagoon or walk in the garden doesn't work. They seem to regain health only if they initialize the eating sequence. There is no 'Your villager feels better after eating.' or something like this message if you do it manually.

b. I reassigned him as farmer as soon as I found his health hit 'weakened' status, but he doesn't regain health like other scientists or builder. (Others make a trip to the food bin after some working and there goes the message that they feels better.)

Now I continuously bring him from worksite and let him do other than work. And this is very frustrating since he tends to go to the field as soon as I look the other way. Is there any other way to get him some rest?

Please help!

He's been weakened pretty badly through being injured and re-injured...you're going to have do some hard work and take him to the bin manually a LOT of times... You'll see a little change in the status bar after about 8 feedings... and just keep on going.. or give yourself a break, give him some water, let him farm a couple of minutes and then repeat the routine. He will get back health, but it's going to take sme work and patience on your part.

Oh and try making him a doctor... let him get a notch of experience ... you'll find doctors tend to eat and drink on their own more readily

Wow, it works like a charm! As soon as he becomes trainee doctor, first thing he does is going right to the food bin! Always wondered why my two master doctors wanted to wander off frequently to eat during cactus-watching. (Usually I dropped them right off to the cactus again, but still they ate something no matter what... I don't want to know what that something was.)

Now all I have to do is waiting, right? \:\) At least I'm good at that. Hehe.

Thank you for your help, bajantara!

What bajantara said. I usually find that it takes at least 5 feedings at the food bin before the status bar moves.

Farming or Healing (or even Breeding if you can afford the extra babies) are the best "occupations" for him to regain his health. But you need to be patient, it'll happen slowly.

If you don't need to watch your game for other things, shut it off for a while. Villagers tend to keep "on task" more when the software "catches up" with realtime. After you have it off for 10-20 (or more!) minutes, and then start the program again, you can peek at the log file and see the progress. You should be able to see log entries where he is slowly healing. (The log won't be 100% caught up, you'll need to quit the game again to see the whole thing.)

Most doctors in real life eat well - of course, that might have something to do with the fees they charge \:D

I personally hate having my doctors addicted to the cactus... Drugs (and cacti) are bad, mmkay? If I'm tired of a Trainee doctor pacing around acting like there's nothing to do, I'll set him down on the lily and keep plunking him there till he's at least half-way through Trainee... at about 40% research bar or so they seem to stop being bored.

57 hours of playing. Now he's healthy as a horse. Whether it is due to the huge amount of ration he consumed or all the dancing sessions he went through each time he caught a crab, I'll never know.

Once a villager doesn't keep getting injured before they can heal, they'll eventually get back to full health. Manually feeding them gets them back there faster so you can get them to research/build if that's what's needed. Just check your researchers and builders regularly, and move them to farming/healing for a bit before they get down to weakened stage. Glad everything went well \:\)
