Ok, I started a new game the other day, and all was going well until one of the villagers ate a berry that the shamans warned them about. Needless to say the little guy is no longer with us. (I like my little people to be adventurous, even at a cost.) Since it was a new game I didn't have many tech points, no new spirituality, so basically for a while I had a corpse on the ground. I don't know what possessed me to do this, but I then put my then child on the corpse, and the message came up that the villager had improved in healing! Sure enough, the healing bar in the Details menu was rising every time I put him on the corpse. Anyway. I just thought that was a little amusing, yet morbid, way of getting skill points.

Perhaps it's a hint of a new ability in a later version of the game: Bringing villagers back to life! Hmmm.... perhaps not.

Ha Ha, I don't think it is a sign of things to come. \:\) This is labeled as a feature since it does not effect the out come of the game and it lets you increase a villagers healing skill! You could also call it a cheat if you like. ;\)

And it's a significant improvement over the early iterations of the game when the peeps would do all sorts of *other* things with the corpses. ewwwwwwwwwww

LOL, I wasn't even going to mentioned that! Some things are best left unknown. \:\)

Ooooo! I want to hear about this! Anything Evil Dead like? Any villagers with a chainsaw for a hand named Ash?

LadyCFII opened that can of worms; I'll let her respond (if she can).

Well, someone should let us in on the secret... that's way to interesting to leave us hanging.

It's not that interesting, really. You see all the possibilities every day as you're playing Virtual Villagers. Any interaction that villagers could have with a living villager, they could have with one that was no longer living in those early versions. It was pretty weird to see someone arguing with or praising a skeleton. The most poignant was when they tried to heal one. It never worked.

Oh - well, I did notice when I pick someone up and put them on a skeleton for a moment it'll say "Embracing" before replying "That villager is dead!" and they go to bury them.

But at least I got an Evil Dead reference in there.

I'd agree with arguing being weird, but I rather like the idea of them praising a dead villager. After all, a eulogy is often an important part of the funeral.

On second thoughts, arguing with a corpse makes sense, too. At least you won't get any smart answers. ;\)
