While some people do adjust their computer's system clock to make the game go faster, we don't recommend that. Not only can it cause significant problems with the game's real-time engine, it can cause potentially serious problems with the operating system, file system and other applications on a computer (such as security and anti-virus software). If you're willing to risk problems by adjusting the clock, that's certainly your choice.
Adjusting the clock doesn't directly affect the frequency of Island Events in the game. They will occur randomly as determined by the event scheduler in the game, approximately once a day under the best conditions.
If you're bored with your current village, you might want to start a new game and set some challenges for yourself - such as trying to finish all the puzzles except the graveyard with no villagers dying, or finishing puzzle 15 before you start on puzzles 3 and beyond (yes, it can be done).
