In a hard game I recently started, I wanted to see if I could complete it without Level 3 Farming.

So I needed to be very careful to watch the crop harvesting and use tricks like pile on all my adults when down to 2 crops left on the field (to try to get 7 additional crops for each adult)

So I also need to be fairly aggresive in my mushroom hunting. I always had 1-5 kids, and would attempt to get as many as I could onto each mushroom.

Since the stats count each mushroom deposited in the food bin, the number has been increasing and I just saw that I had 1002 mushrooms collected! The Internet ranking for that was #4.

Who else has a high number of mushrooms, how many and what is your rank?

I have 1018 mushies, and I'm also #4! However, I was on easy, and i've had my tribe for quite awhile.

I'm now up to 1053, still at #4... Sometimes the mushrooms popup pretty close together. Once, I was still collecting one, and another popped up right next to it, before I even took the game off of pause.

In most of my "finished" games, I don't go mushroom hunting, but only grabb them when spotted (and whether I try to grab multiple ones, depends on where it was located and how many kids are close...)

I think it is pretty impressive to get over 1000 with only 257 hours of real time "play." Obviously, not all of that was playing since I was away from this computer for sleeping, eating, working, etc.

Yeah, I suspected that there are ranges for rankings. I was curious, and that's why I was asking people who were over 1000 mushrooms to report in.

But i only have between 800 to 900!

Methinks the statistics portion of the game is a little suspect... I'd say don't worry about rank, and just congratulate yourself for reaching the 1k Mushroom Club! \^_^/

Lol but really thats cool but how do you get so many mushrooms? It`s so hard for me.

It helps to be dedicated to seeing a difficult goal get accomplished. In my case it was running in "hard mode" and not getting Level 3 Farming.

I knew that I needed to keep my kids "mushroom hunting" and also always needed to make sure that there was at least one kid around. Which also made it more difficult as there were more mouths to feed...

I got pretty good at search the likely areas for mushrooms and keeping track of where my kids were, or places they liked to visit. Every time I spotted a mushroom, I put the game on pause and worked to get as many kids as I could to pick the mushroom (it was 1 to 5 at any given time...) Sometimes the kid got distracted or stopped on the way to the food bin, but most made it to help the food resources of the village.

I didn't keep track of how many red mushrooms were picked, but not that many, especially for the last day or so of searching.

Now the village is still functioning with the GC. He'll add to the food bins, create berries and restore the crops, so I can let the game run for a few minutes in a background window and there is plenty of food to be picked/harvested while the game is shut off. Oh, and I still haven't bought Level 3 Farming, so there are researchers still at the table!

I have 1164 mushrooms and my reported rank is 4.

How did all of you get so many mushrooms. Im lucky I get 10. I did learn to put 2 or more kids on a mushroom but 1,000 is allot.

Just worked up there over time... As I mentioned, I was playing a game with a tough goal (no Fishing!) so getting the villagers to eek out every bit of food was important. I needed to keep the kids mushroom hunting.

Sometimes I only had one ot two kids to work with, sometimes the mushroom disappeared before I could get the kid there, or they dropped it before getting to the food bin. But it was really just persistance.

In other games that may have 20 or more kids, a mushroom popping up at an opportune time (near the school just after the drum was called or near the "clinic" when all the kids are sick) can mean lots of mushrooms all at once.

I am confused (although that's perfectly natural...LOL) if you put more than 1 kid on a mushroom will I get credit for more than one???

Yeah, you'll get credit for every mushroom you've placed in the foodbin

You have to pause it, and then drop as many kids on it as you can! Then when you unpause it (spacebar = pause/unpause) they'll all pick it and run to the food bin!
