Since playing this game I have only been able to get 6 island events in a game. How do you get 164. I noticed on the leaderboard people have over 100. How can you do that?

the game isn't over when you solve all of the puzzles. the longer you play the game, the more events you will have.

I have been playing for weekd bt for some reason I havent had an island event in 3 days. I havent been able to go into the game because I have been real sick. Someoe had said dont do the grave puzzle so I havent yet. I am playing 5 games at once I have only 8 island events. Any ideas.

Island Events occur only about once a day under ideal conditions, and may be far less frequent than that. If you don't open the game for a long time, you will only get one when you do turn it on again. They don't "stack up" while the game is off, and it's not unusual to go for several days without seeing one.

I'm not sure that I understand why you are avoiding the graveyard puzzle, though.

It's not all that unusual to see the same event in different games at nearly the same time. I experience that kind of thing frequently. \:\)

Thanks, I had never experienced it myself in a consecutive manner in two games. At least I know now that a strong breeze didn't sweep disease to my island next door.

I have played for 459 hours in total of my playing..
Then i had an event it was new.....
I think if you play longer you will get more events
I would like to find out how many hours you played please tell me
so i can find out how many more days until events arrive you and why this happens to you.

As LadyCFII says, events happen roughly once a day. However, if a game is not opened for several days, only one event will occur. So, if you start two games at once and check one game once a day or more often, you will get roughly five events in five days, but if you only check the second game every other day you will only get two or three events. That assumes all your villagers haven't died from neglect. ;\)

In addition, new games get two special events within a couple of hours of starting but I've excluded these.

I discovered VV about three months ago now. I remember that my very first event in my very first game caused a villager to wander off into the jungle, never to be seen again. I got the same event in my second game, but this time made the safe choice, benefitting from my unfortunate earlier experience. I've never had the event again.

I keep hoping for the good outcome for that event, but also haven't had it yet.

BTW, Barbara, I think sharon315 was avoiding the graveyard because that has been suggested as a strategy to try to make the game different.

Putting off the graveyard was stratigec. Another person told me to forward the clck. But I think it has ruined the events happening. My computer isnt good enough to be on it 24/7. I wa told if you shut the computer down the game still continues. So when he go back into the game the nexr day true you will only have 1 event but at least you have that. But because of not going into the game for 3 days because I was sick I thought wqhen I did get on the game I would at least hve an event waiting.

I've always understood the strategy as trying to solve all of the puzzles without any villagers dying, not avoiding the graveyard per se. I was just making sure that something different wasn't at work here. If any of my villagers die before achieving that particular goal, I don't usually leave them lying around. \:D

Same here... Part of the reason why I never completed that goal.

I have - several times in both Village Sim and Virtual Villagers - but it does take a certain strategy and high tolerance for failure! \:D

Blasted measles! 4 out of the last 5 days my event has been measles. When it happens I have about 50 kids and trying to keep my doctor in the field to heal is practically impossible. All he wants to do is relax or exercise. I have to keep dropping him on kids or he leaves all of them standing there waiting to be healed. It must be an HMO thing!

I just started a third game even though I always have two others going. And right away I received an event that I had never seen before. I only hae 1 child that came to the island with me and he is 4. They called him a troubled child who was uninterested in normal childhood things and I had to make a choice. I chose for him to try research and now he is a prodigy with master research at the age of 4, cool! They also gave me over 3,000 tech points due to some discovery he made. WooHoo!

What is the graveyard game?.......pretty knew here so I'm also pretty lost, lol. Also, how do you know in VV if you have built and grew everything there is to build and grow? I seen a picture somewhere on here and there was a picnic table, a tree by the lagoon and also some rocks by the lagoon. I have finished all my puzzels and bought everything there is to buy, the cave is open, I have my golden child. Is there anything else?

The pictures you are seeing have been modified by people playing the game. Many people keep playing the game in different ways, set new challenges beyond solving the puzzles, install the holiday mods (accessible here), or edit screen shots in Photoshop for a little added fun.

So you are saying, that unless I want to "modify" the game, I pretty much have discovered everything? I'm also curious when the game ends, if it ever does, lol

Virtual Villagers, like all of our real-time games, is designed to be open-ended. Each game has clear goals, but the games can continue to go on and allow you to play as long as you like. The Island Events will continue to happen, which can dramatically change the way things are going for your villagers. You can also try to get a higher ranking in our online High Scores page. Once you get tired of your current game, you can do like most people do and play the game again on different settings and/or try different strategies. The puzzles aren't as stressful the second time, and you can try completing them much earlier in the game.

This thread contains links to several good discussions on that topic! \:D

When I get the measles event (or even worse, the poison event!), I don't bother trying to find a doctor to keep him at work. I just keep picking up kids and dropping them in the crowd of sick kids. \:\)

Sometimes it doesn't work, but often it does, and then I have a cured kids plus another with some healing skills.

I just keep doing that until all the kids are cured (I may use the detailed screen to find which ones are still sick if needed.)

Eventually, adults with healing skills (whether checked or not) will come to the "clinic" and help out.

I had a 6 year old master scientist, but when he was old enough to work he would only do research no matter what I needed him to do.
