When I check on my dad's villagers, sometimes I catch a villager at the treasure chest with the action saying "Sees something unusual".Does that mean anything at all?

No, that's a little _bug_ that's been left in.

In VV, nope. It is just one of those cute things the villagers do. In VV2? Hmmm, we'll just to wait and see.

I actually had that happen in the village square right after some folks were buried. One of my trainee scientists "saw something unusual" and headed for the berry bush, but then was way-laid by someone who wanted to register a complaint.

I would not label it a _bug_. I would call it more of a feature due to the emergent behavior of the villagers. I'm sure with all the gold, coins and gems in the chest there are a lots of unusual looking things in it. :P
