i have been playing for about 123 real hours, and I love the game, just my villages are being stubborn and wont do any research.

Set the preference for the villagers that you want to do research and just keep dragging them back to the table. If they are born with that preference put them there if you can. The boulder well, I hate to give it away. You can look under the spoilers if you want too. But the boulder is the key to the upcoming vv2. Welcome to our island!
