I've heard the fastest way to have a farmer gain experience is to have them plant crops. When doing this the game certainly gives you a lot of messeges saying that that villager has gotten better at farming, but I still have yet to get a master farmer.
All of my tech options are at level two, except for farming, which is level three. I have a nice hefty stockpile of food, am almost up to 80,000 tech points, and have 27 villagers, five of which are still nursing. I took a peek at VillageMonk's walk through and according to it, at least one of my villagers should have mastered farming by this time, and I WANT THE FISH OF FERTILITY!

Since you have level 3 farming, and a good stockpile of food, maybe you can reduce the number of farmers to one or two, (the ones with the most skill). They'll probably work more steadily at the job, than if you spread the farming around more villagers. Hang in there, it WILL happen

I got a master farmer quickly. She is also almost a master doctor and has high research points too. She is the bomb. She is 59 how long do our villagers typically live?

I've got two old folk farming, and everyone else is breeding or building or under the age of 14. I hope I NEVER see such a herd of children in real life.
