Good question! Haha!! I was "training" twin girls, Cara and Cora, in the dangerous world of agriculture and started them off at the berry bush. I had quite a few teenagers to train and didn't notice their phobia of berries straight away because one of them had no problem and started foraging immediately while the other ran away. I thought I had inadvertently placed another VV too close to her and put her back to the bush with no problem. While one went back to the bush from the food bin, the other started pacing "worried about housing" and when I placed her back on the bush, she ran, then I checked her details, and was surprised to see she had a dislike of berries.

I thought for a second then that they weren't twins, but no, the other who was quite happily foraging away, also had a "phobia" of berries. So I placed the other twin back on the bush (I felt a bit cruel doing it) to see if she had a dislike and although she ran away the first time, she then started to forage.

So, they both have overcome their phobia of berries, but not, as you can see, their one of dancing! Well, you know what they say...."you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink!!" Haha!!

One final thing, I've also noticed that I have several doctors with a dislike of medicine but have trained in that "career" quite easily, so when is a phobia not a phobia?? Good question...

Just thought I'd share,

Best of Irish,
Maura

I think the dislike is more of a "would rather not do that" then an "i wont be caught dead doing that".

Well, at least their dislike of dancing will keep them working even through the GC's parties!

I still think it's funnier when you have someone set to farm who hates swimming/fish/the ocean... they'll go to the ocean to fish, and then "inexplicably" run away!

Another "useful" dislike is of crowds. The villagers with a dislike of crowds also refuse to go to the GC's parties, and waste time celebrating the solving of puzzles, etc. They might be a bit of a misery-guts, but I don't work with them!

And sometimes their likes are just as annoyingly funny....I have a doctor who likes running AND swimming....just watching him makes me feel like the laziest person in the world, haha!!

And I've had several triplet runners which simply give me a headache, haha.....

Maura

I had a master farmer who disliked the ocean and fish. Every now and then he'd decide to go fishing, then remember that he hated it, and go off running around the village in a panic.I'm not really sure how he got to be a master farmer; he was only 15 when I first noticed him after opening the game when I came home from work; he was already a master.

I've had farmers become masters even hating some aspect of fishing. There is foraging and harvesting still that they can do, which I guess they do while we gods are resting our eyes from the game. It's always worth a few laughs to see one of them just running around the village because of the farming AI telling them to fish. =P

I have had farmers who were born with a little bit of ability to farm hating berries and green. They were my first little people.Trying to teach a farmer to forage with a hate of berries,or a farmer who hates swimming to fish or a doctor who hates bushes or the color green.
But when you have a village with alot of sick people and even the doctors sick and the only well one you have is a builder who hates the color green is a pain.Especially when you need to become a doctor pretty quick or you'll lose your little people. That was too hard to play.I kept putting him up to the cactus and the other herbs to get points enough to become a skilled doctor and he kept shaking his head NO.I was lucky after numerous times he finally gave in.But he didn't cure all of them,he just did the one who was a doctor and then he took over. And the builder went back to building.

I had TRIPLET farmers who disliked fish. They never went near the ocean, but harvested crops and foraged just fine. However, everytime they went to the food bin to drop their load, they'd run away as fast as they could go after putting their stuff in! It was hysterical watching them. I decided to put them out of their misery and made them all breeders. They died happy I guess.....
