I was playing the game and I saw that my bush had more berries in it than when I started. Thinking that there may be a limit to how many there could be like the crops, I decided to find out how many berries it can have. After about 2 hours of preventing my farmers from foraging, I found that I had more than 4,000 berries. At that point, however, I had to stop and practically all the berries were foraged the next time I came on.

Can somebody find out how many berries the bush can hold?

From what I have experienced, the berry bush can hold an unlimited amount of berries.

The GC will add berries to the bush, often faster than the farmers can forage them.

However, as the number of berries on the bush grows, each basket that they collect gets bigger and bigger, so it'll only take a few farmers to keep up with the GC's production. When the game is shut off, the GC doesn't produce more berries, so the farmers catch up.

To really see how many it can hold (and it may be infinite), you'll need to have as few farmers as possible (check their preferred job to be parenting, that seems to keep them distracted. ) and keep the game window open and running.

Or perhaps someone with a game that only has the GC left can keep theirs open and see how many berries he'll produce.

if i don't get the right event soon i'll have one of those villages *sigh*

well i do still have farmers in the game i was talking about able, but for kicks i checked my berry bush....14,222 berries

Me too eyeshigh! Don't know what happened, I turned on the computer a couple of days ago, and one of my villages had gone from pop 90, to pop 2 overnight (I didn't think to check the log until too late!

One of the remaining villagers is the GC and the other was a two year old boy.

He's a man now, and I'm just waiting in hope for a barrel full of babies to come along.

Cool, but when you do not have the GC, does it still grow?

I had my berry bush over 20,000 on time. So I'm sure there is no limit as to how many berries the bush will hold. And each basket yeilded over 100 food points.

Would be neat if when you checked "farming" as the skill you could then check "berries, crops or fishing" as the preferred farming method so you could better control your villagers tasks. And if you didnt have one of them available it would be greyed out till you had it. Just a thought but it would help i think to control your food supply and what villagers do

Monk, that's a great idea if it could be implemented! And the same thing for Builders, choose which building project you want them to concentrate on.

devilyn, the berry bush will replenish at a rate of 30 per Village year if you don't have a GC, or the village is running in "off mode."

well, my village died, leaving only the GC...he is runningaround dancing and making a party with the rameining skeleton...kind of wiorried about his sanity....

on the bright side, the berries will grow unhindered now...

95,651 so far...I'll leaveit running and see how high it goes

well, we know for sure that it can hold at least 1 million berries

my berry bush is currenty at 1,008,651.

I suppose the next place it is most likely to stop is 10 million. It may be a while before we find that out tho.

Do you think that time warping that game (not my games I'm actually playing) with thewindow open will induce the berry bush to produce its normal 30 berries a year AND that the GC will make more berries on the bush??

I was kind of thinking about time warping ahead like a year or something, but i don't know what else that might get messed up on my computer.

I don't think that it's worth time warping just to find out.

But I suspect that the 30 berries per Isola year will be added, but not from the GC (he only adds berries when the window is "live.")

And I will say it again, from what I have heard, the berry bush will hold an endless supply of berries, just like the grave yard will hold an endless supply of bodies and just like the food bin will hold an endless supply of food.

in the meantime, i get the satisfaction of leaving the GC stranded alone on the island. maybe he'll think twice before murdering all my other villagers in the night.
