I wish I had though to take a "snap" of the orange event box. The general wording was "Oliver found a vial (which I allowed him to drink) and he started to smell a strange but familiar aroma which brought him back to his youth. It was porridge he was smelling"!!
Hey presto, he was no longer a 62 year old Master Builder, but a 4 year old Apprentice Builder.
I don't quite understand why it says he's an apprentice though, while his blue training bar still has him as a master!!
Maybe Barbara could give us the full text of this event, as I've never seen or heard of it before!!
And he is really called Oliver, and if you're familiar with Dickens' Oliver Twist you will understand the "porridge" relationship, haha!!
By the way, does this mean he will live to his 70's but the stats page will show his age around 120, haha!!

Sorry, someone, I meant that I've never noticed the term "apprentice" being used before, when you circle a child it's normally "untrained", I think.
Anyway, the main point of this thread was about the event...I've never seen it before, nor recall seeing anything written about it, that's all...

I've had that event several times and seen it mentioned on the forum. The villager will keep all of his/her skills even after they regress.
There's another interesting side-effect if the villager was female and is nursing a baby or starts nursing a baby after she turns 18. In those cases, she won't stop nursing until she reaches the original age she was before drinking the vial!

I just started a village on "hard" and had that event happen just after getting the hut built.
I actually said "drink it" this time cos it was one of my guys (vs a female) trying to .. that gave me 2 kids and 3 adults.
It turned out to be really lucky cos the next event I had was the "bad weather wiping out the stored crops" one.
The luck was having 2 kids to grab mushrooms kept them from starving until I had enough tech points to get crops into the field.

I had this happen once. I never thought to check the stats to see if his "real" age was displayed or if it was all reset. I think I will have to check. If I can remember which village it was!

Oh and one more thing, any child will say "apprentice" if he/she has a fair amount of skill,(hard to explain not a little but not neccesarily a lot either) but I think it has to be checked in the details screen to show up?

No, it doesn't need to be checked. Whichever skill is the highest will be listed as "apprentice" until the kid turns 14. Then it'll be listed as Trainee, Adept, or Master.

Well, Oliver has died at the age of 79. And I made a note of the eldest villager on the stats page when this event occurred, it was 86. And when Oliver died there was no change.
So the "extra" years which Oliver had are not added to his previous years which would have made him 137 on the stats page. There goes the theory some people have raised in other threads about aging and the stats pages!!
