It really depends on what needs to be done. If you haven't finished the puzzles nad bought all the techs, villagers should be allocated to those ends.

You should always have a few Doctors, or at least several villagers able to heal.

It is also agood idea to keep villagers trained to farm, although you can have them primarily researching or building. That way if something happened to your food supply, the villagers can still survive.

In my game there are 50% farmers,30% healers,15% scientists and 5% builders. The scientists and builder become useless if you finshed the game and research all tech level,so if that happen I'll have 50% farmers and 40% healers, the last 10% is parents

The best way to play the game is to check your puzzle.See how many of the puzzles are done.Your builders are needed to uncover most of the puzzles.Make sure you keep your food supply up with farmers. You can have only 10 farmers out of 90 and if they are young enough they will continue the food supply until they are old.Make sure as they get older and more babies are born to divide the work load out evenly.Doctors are needed to make sure your villagers stay healthy.Builders uncover puzzles and also help to make the population by building homes. You need all the scientist you can get so you can get your tech points up so you can buy the skills.Farmers are needed to keep them fed and alive. Once you have the golden child,he'll make sure the food supply stays in control. When your not playing the villagers are still living,so keep them fed and healthy and keep them working. My older people I usually let them get tech points or let them populate. They seem to live longer that way.The most villagers I have ever gotten is 91.And I have had about 7 sets of triplets.I enjoy my villagers. You will too.

My only advice is, no matter how many people you have, make sure you have at least two people trained to do one chore! One older who has near mastered the skill, and one younger who is at least a trainee in it. That way, when the older one dies, the younger one can start to master it. Then, when a villager has mastered a skill, make sure to put them on a different skill, and replace them with someone who hasn't mastered that skill, yet. You never know when a plague will come about and wipe out a few, most, or (SADLY) even all your village! If that happens and you only have a few people left, it won't be quite so hard to keep it going! GOOD LUCK!
