Desperate, frantic people fleeing from a volcano?

See, now that doesn't work for me. It makes no sense to take all that time to seal a child in a painstakingly well-sealed watertight crate instead of just jumping in a canoe or on a raft. I'm going to assume they came from someplace else and my villagers just aren't bright enough to figure it out.

Especially for the crates that come 70 years later.

I just dont believe you, next you'll be trying to tell me isola does'nt exist and that all my little villagers aren't really dependant on me spending hours on end watching over and nurturing them!!!

Ok People, no need to start acting all crazy, we ALL KNOW that the Wizard of Oz is real, there is a little village out there on the island of Isola that needs their God/Godess, and that there WILL be a fat man in a red suit in our houses in a month and a half.

And babies can arrive in barrels and crates, carefully preserved as toddlers (statis technology is real, too)!

AH! I get it now, they were scientifically frozen (what's that called?) at the time of the volcanic eruption, and you know how those currents can be (especially in the US, with the El Nino) and it took them X number of days, months, years to actually arrive on an inhabited beach and magically became unfrozen upon the opening of the container!
WOW! What a mouthful...my brain hurts!

Yeah, but it makes you wonder even more about the intelligence of the villagers we ended up with, doesn't it?
