Did you know that the GC will "Water the field" when you set him in the field? I just learned this after all of these months playing the game! I tried to have him do other things but other than healing this appears to be the only thing I can assign him to do. Am I missing somthing here? Can I get the GC to do other work and why would I? Thanks in advance, Fluteteacher!

As far as I know he will only heal, replenish food, and water the gardens...I found that out as a fluke myself...after I saw him doing that I tried to have him do other things too with no avail.

I am just curious as to why he can do this assigned task but no others? Any ideas?

Cause the people at LDW like to mess with our heads...just look at how long progress on VV2 has been at 70%...lol...I don't have any idea why he can only do this, maybe to help get the other puzzles done faster? That's my only guess....anyone else want a shot at this one???

The GC is his own boss. You cannot force him into doing anything that he doesn't want too.

I think it might have been a glitch... There are so many other tasks that need to be done before you can get the GC, that it is probably unusual for the garden puzzle not to already be solved by the time the GC comes along.

I'm in the process of a game where I held off clearing the blockage until the rock was carved and I've earned all of the tech points needed. I still don't have the GC, but none of my villagers have been distracted by laundary in the mean time!

Its not a glitch, the GC can help remove the blockage in any game.

Remove the blockage? Do you mean the lagoon? I was only able to get the GC to water the strange patch in the field. Thanks!

No, I meant a glitch (bug/feature) in the programming. That it was something that the developers might not have meant, but was discovered as people played the game in unsual orders.

But, the GC can not clear the blockage of the lagoon, since that puzzle is one of the ones that must be done before the GC puzzle can be completed.
