What would happen if a mother was caring for a baby and for some strange reason she was taking care of him/her even tough he/she was an adult and then you dunk them in the lagoon.

First Part, why would it be a strange reason for a mother to be taking care of him/her? Second part, why would a mother be taking care of an adult child? Third, who are you dunking the mother or adult child? In either case, they would enjoy the water of the lagoon.
Now, if the mother was nursing a child, she might produce the GC.
Assuming you meant a GC? Given that you've done everything and got all the tech levels required, that is when you would put a nursing mother in the lagoon. Apart from that, adults (nursing or not) are simply going to enjoy going for a swim in the lagoon
