This one is just for fun, Abbey. I don't think Charley is expecting people to post things that they need tech support for.

When the GC is asked to pick a mushroom it is invisible. He trots off to the food bin and the food score goes up, but the mushroom can't be seen.

There are many things besides drinking liquids that can produce a child who has mastered a skill.

I think it is so funny when, for whatever reason, one of the partners does not show up in the love shack. Must not have been satisfying.

That's why I tend to think of the "love shack" as the "maternity ward" instead. Sometimes the dads are there for the delivery and sometimes they aren't...

The times when the "kiss" doesn't take and one gets to the shack and back to try again is when I think of it as a "fertility clinic"... sometimes multiple attempts are necessary and again, both parents aren't always together.

I finished a game yesterday, getting all the tech levels, the puzzles, and reaching 90 villagers. I reopened it just now and was greeted by a message saying "Congratulations! You have reached the third population milestone of 50 villagers". Thing was, I had 89 villagers at the time. One had died while the game was closed.

I'm pretty sure the "50 villagers" message appeared at the normal time when I was building up the population; I am certain that the "90 villagers" message appeared yesterday.

people have already mentioned the bug where if a nursing mother drank a certain vial and turned into a child again, she continue nursing until back at the point she was.

Well, I've observed something similar. Mamba was an adult villager with some farming and research skills, but not nursing when she drank the vial and turned into a 4 year old.

While she was growing up, I finished the game and set one of my male villagers to parenting to fill out the population. When Mamba turned 18, she was "embraced" and started nursing.

However her status never changed from 240 minutes (the game was on Normal mode!) until (I think) she was back to where she was before drinking the vial.

LDW states this is not a bug, but a feature.

Warren is correct. That phenomenon is a side-effect of ingesting certain substances that a villager happens upon! Since the men never nurse babies, they don't experience that side-effect.

In software-speak, a feature is just a bug that the developers decide not to fix.

IMHO, it would be better for the game if this feature was not there...

Please help me folks! I now have TWO games where I'm down to just the G.C., which is my own fault for neglecting my poor little villagers for too long. Here's the bug that I've discovered - the G.C. does NOT bury the dead - the bones just VANISH! My stats never changed to reflect my additional dead - what's up with that???

Thanks.

Children cannot bury the dead, and the corpses decompose in about a day or so if left unburied. It's not a bug.

I am starting to think of it as more of an adoption agency. The couple goes in to see if the right baby is there. If so, they adopt him/her, if not, they wait. That way it doesn't matter who gets ther first, how many poeple go in at once, etc.

I find my nursing mothers swimming in the ocean, especially when I first open my game. I wonder if has anything to do with them usually being farmers? Fishing for babies maybe?

I had a post one time in regards to this. I had been away from my game and when I came back to it later I had a villager standing in the ocean doing nothing. I finally pulled her out and saw that she had been standing in the surf holding a baby under the water. I inquired from our genious moderators and I believe it was Carla who told me it is not a glich, it is just to do with the timing of the game, etc. Technical stuff that I did not understand but makes sense to people much brighter than me. I had thought that my new mom had munchausens disease, you know harming there children to get attention themselves.

Nope not a glitch but a feature.

Upon game start up, all of your villagers are randomly place throughout the village. And the program does not look at the villager’s skill, age, gender, or if they are nursing.

You can observe some weird stuff due to this feature.

I totally forgot to get my villagers to dig for the treasure this morning. Usually I make sure all the puzzles possible without the GC have been completed before he arrives, so that the villagers aren't distracted.

Anyway, I set about five to digging, and watched them closely, dragging them back to work every time the GC called a party (not always easy: one is a runner!). Eventually they completed the puzzle and I was surprised to see that the cave was open. The GC must have cleared away the boulder without telling me. There was no announcement that the last puzzle had been solved.

I'm experiencing a Naming Glitch. I dont have any Twins or Triplets, but just notice it changed a few of my characters to the same name, So Now I have 4 Miranda's and 3 John's, Strange since i haven't done anything except look at my computer screen for 48 hrs. Maybe its just my eyes seeing multiple characters of the same? Has anyone else experience the same name Glitch?

This happened to me serveral times in one game where I was really journalling everything. The names just changed themselves. Very confusing. I posted and someone said it was a known bug. Oh well...keeps you on your toes I guess.

I noticed it just today... In one of my games "Unagi" was having trouble learning to build or heal, I would keep putting her at the task and she'll do it for a while, but when I came back later, no further progress. (This is in a finished game where I train all of the villagers to adept level in farming, building and healing, and then the women in breeding, and then let them do what they want to do...)

Anyway, since she was a problem villager, I've been keeping a closer eye on her. This morning, when I checked her progress, I saw that her name was now "Tonga" like the next villager down the line from her.

That bug was reported several months ago. But like Cass and sfrose, I never pay much attention to names, nor does it bother me that they change names. \:\) I know I'm a bad VV manger, but I have found that whips work better on the villagers rather then love. :P

Grin. I am glad to see this thread. I hope it is not too late to contribute.

This morning I heard a yelp from Mark. He had started a new game the night before, and his youngest lady villager had a drink of some potion..Mark could not recall what kind. The potion turned the villager into a master breeder.

He yelped this morning when he turned his computer on because even though he had not completed his first hut there was a new kid running about.

This evening, when he got home from work, he yelped again because when he turned on his computer he had still more kids and no hut.

"That potion turned her into a super horndog breeder" said he in amazement.

He finally got his hut built, and "The Horndog" or "Mama" as he named her, is constantly in "The Family Way"

As soon as her baby doesn't need her anymore, she does "The Wild Thing" with the first man she can get her hands on.

Mark does not keep track of whose child is whose, so he is quite enjoying this aberration...and I am enjoying listening to him talk about it \:\)

I love this game \:\)

I had the same thing happen to me in a game (I may still have that game running, but the villager a long ago passed away.)

But IIRC, she would embrace but wouldn't have a baby until there was enough housing for the increased population.
