Been wondering...what are some intersting names people use to rename thier villagers? Or name systems, that is. I've heard of a lot of interesting naming systems and if would be fun to hear some more. Here are the two I've used:

1. The first naming system I used was a system where I named a young villager after an older villager when the population got large enough. This naming would be determined by the prestige, skill and age of the older villager and the similarity of the younger one. For example, if a young boy with farming skills had just been born, I might name him after a middle-aged man who was particularily good at farming, or an older farmer. If a twenty+ year old was very, very good at thier field, they too might earn a namesake. Lazy villagers would be branded "Shamed One"

2. Number two is definatly my favorite and the one I am currantly using. In this, two villagers around the same age, a male and a female, are chosen from childhood to be bred to each other. They are each given a one sylable name, such as An, Ta or Ki. Then when they turn 14, they both recieve an identical new name, like Kiki. When they turn 18, their names become slightly different with three sylables: Kikia and Kikio. Around that age, all the women will have a child. When they become elderly, a third sylable is added: Kikiana and Kikiono. I got this idea from a book but in truth this sylable-name is practiced in several different cultures.
