Well today I had my laptop at work. The other EMT's and Firefighters in the station saw me playing VV. Before long I was evicted from my workspace and my laptop wasn't included in the expulsion .

The biggest problem is that everyone wanted to start their own game. Thus with just the 5 slots it really limited the number of people I could let play.

So my question is can I install it to multiple directories on the HD and then have 5 games in each directory? Then the only problem will be people fighting over time at this one computer .

Who would have thought fixing social problems could be this fun, and addictive.

Bill

P.S.- Thought someone here might know before I bothered tech support.

You could probably use the same technique that GrammaBobbie used in Fish Tycoon to have more games/players going on the same computer. You can check her post here.

Thanks, That is exactly what I was wondering about. I'm sure the guy's at the station will like that news.

I woke up this morning to find out 2 of the other guy's were up all night playing VV. It was a quiet 24 hour shift so basically the platoon played VV for about 22 of 24 hours .

Can't wait for VV2.

That's fun! I can just picture the scene at the station! So, how do you decide who gets to "drive" the laptop at any given time? Draw straws? Arm wrestle?

Well yesterday I just kept finding "special duties" for any of the guy's who weren't sharing nicely . Between that and daily duties (cooking, cleaning, etc) it kept most of the guy’s moving on and off pretty well. The real problem was that there was only 4 slots available to them so we had 2 and 3 guy’s trying to play the same village that led to several discussions on where they should use there Tech points, all friendly though. Actually that usually is when guys would change to another village that was using the points the way they wanted too.

Truth be told I’ll probably get the guy’s to pony up some cash and buy a copy for the station “fun computer” (all games and such no business applications on it at all). That way I can get my laptop back so at least I can be a little productive while my village is running in the background.

Not sure how big this will grow in our system as I only work out of 1 of 6 stations. Some of the guy’s move around depending on the day and shift so I’m sure pretty soon we’ll be buying a few copies to place around at the other stations as well. Seeing that most of the guy’s on my platoon were quite addicted.

Thanks again for the link.

This may not fall under the category of "fanfiction", but it sure makes a lovely fan story
