MY Thanksgiving image set will show up in the mods section very soon as well as my 49 page guide that i wrote over the past month from my own accounts of a game, as well as various things i've pulled from the forum. It could be bigger and im sure there is a lot i missed, it basically comes down to time, which i've spent a lot of already writing it. I hope you all enjoy the thanksgiving image set and the guide. Its for you guys Should be up as early as tomorrow when carla posts the links. Glad you guys have liked my work so far. Look forward to a christmas image set sometime before christmas.

Edit: I've also submitted a zip file containing all the images i used to make the guide. Images of all the tech levels, puzzle screens, puzzle dialogs, everything and a few misc ones of villagers and what not. You can use them for whatever you want, making your own guide, a fan website, etc. I figured this would save at least one person a lot of time if anyone was interested in doing this. The link has been submitted to Carla if she allows she can post it with the other two things i submitted as well.

Time for bed....goodnight VV friends.

Thank you for your hard work on the guide. I'm just disappointed that you didn't include a credits section for all of the forum members who posted hints and tips for you when you requested help.

Thanks, that was a huge amount of work. Now if I can just figure out why I can't get the Halloween mod to work for me.

VM: I am enjoying the Thanksgiving mod...and I see in your last post you are working on a Christmas mod. That's great! I have a question however, if I wanted to return to the original...how is that done? Or can one switch back and forth between holiday and original, if so how is that done?

When you opened the zip i posted there was a folder called backup images. You can simply copy and paste those images over the halloween ones and it will revert to normal after you shut off and start up the game again

Where can I get the download of the Thanksgiving Mod mentioned here? I can't find it anywhere and people are stating that they are enjoying it so it must be here somewhere. LOL Could someone post another link to it for me here? It would be greatly appreciated.

Village Monk - I LOVED the Halloween mod and I can't wait to try the others. Thank you for the time you put into this so we can all have fun.

Go into Main Index at the top of the forum page and you'll find them near the bottom.

Thank you so much! I have installed it and it's great! Excellent Work! I can't wait to see the Christmas one.

I do have a question about the Thanksgiving mod. On some of my games the children get turkeys (in place of mushrooms) and on other games they get a pumpkin which I thought was the pumpkin in the Halloween mod. Is this the way its supposed to be or do I have some kind of glitch?

The pumpkin is the red mushroom in the thanksgiving mod. If you get a turkey its the brown mushroom. No glitch Pumpkins are good

Is anyone else trying to grab the girl inside the school in the thanksgiving mod? At first I couldn't understand what was wrong with my game, then it hit me that the girl was painted in. Duh. LOL at me

If I download and install the Thanksgiving mod, will the Halloween one disappear? And is it possible to have them both (or all 3) at the same time, but just under different files on the game? I'm guessing not but its worth an ask.

Check Barbara's link under the thread "5's not enough", as to the possibility of installing in different directories.

If you install the game in different directories you will not be able to play the same game from both installs. If you want to use both mods for the same games the easiest way would be to make a folder under images called halloween, and one called thanksgiving. then whichever one you want to play simply copy (not cut) the images into your game images directory and start the game. If you want to play the other one next time simply copy them over the ones currently in there. Then it will load whichever ones are in the images directory

Gosh, I know I prob sound like an idiot, but I don't think I have Winzip on this computer. I did the download and I can see all the image files, but I don't know how to get them into the VV Image subdir. When I download, it offers to do one of the following:

-Open with "compressed folder" (default)
-Save to Disk

It looks like either option places the files in a temp directory. I want to play the halloween mod, too. Boo hoo. I'm so screwed. I think I'll just drink that oily red liquid after all... :0)

It doesn't give you an option to choose the directory? If it doesn't, then use the temp directory, and copy/paste them into the Image directory.

Having installed the Thanksgiving mod a couple of times I've found kids halfway up the (uncarved) idol/totem pole. This happens even when the game is running, and I can place them there myself. (See screenshot)

Has this anything to do with the mod?

Its because the totem pole was bigger than the graphic. With this game the graphics are simply stacked. The carved idol being slightly smaller than the uncarved rock so when you are done carving it they simply remove the graphic. I had to increase the size of the over rock to cover the whole totem pole behind it. So the walking boundries of the original rock are slightly smaller than my rock. No biggie it will happen to everyone who uses it.

I was able to extract the file in the image subdir. Nothing is different in the game, tho.

I assume it would have asked you if you wanted to overwrite the existing files... are you sure you didn't say no?

Did you extract the files while the game was open??
If so close the game and reopen it - all images are loaded into the game when its started..

Thank you all for your help. Hubby discovered more than one game on the computer, so he found the one that matched my icon and now me and my peeps are shuckin' corn and dancin' the turkey trot. Thank you!!
