Help! This game takes SO long to get through, when I go to options and set time to stop I thought that was the same as saving. Come back and it's where I left off. Only it is NOT! Fish are hungry who I left fed, many are dead. Research I just started before leaving is finished. This is only over night! I emailed for support and was told I need to quit while actually playing. Only the ONLY place to "exit" is in the blue screen right after I set options to stop time. Should I command Q on the keyboard instead? WHILE in a tank?

exiting the game does not stop time. In the main menu, fo to options, and choose stop time. If you do not so this, time will not stop.

The game is not saved by setting the options to Stop Time. That setting pauses the game, but the only way to preserve that setting is to either click Play or to return to the menu and click on Exit. The game is automatically saved every 30 minutes, as well as each time you exit the game.
If you leave the game on the options screen with Stop Time selected and subsequently change the speed to another setting and click Play, the game will update everything at the new setting, in essence ignoring the fact that it had been set to Stop Time. That's an unfortuante side-effect of the way that the options were implemented. The only safe thing to do after changing the game speed is to either click Play or Exit, which will save the game with those new settings.

Hi, Well I'll try this again. I went through all five of my players, set options to stop, then went to PLAY, moved a fish around, back to options and changed players and did it all again. Then I went through my list of players, hit play by each and it shows "stop time" at the bottom of the screen. So.... we'll see when I come back if it worked or not. thanks

Since you're playing multiple players, there's something else that you should be aware of. When you change players, you MUST click Play before changing the game speed if you want to make sure that you don't see unexpected passage of time. Again, it's just an issue created by the way the options menu is implemented.

Hi again, It seemed to work. I hit play after changing speed, then changed players. Still had some research get done. (fine with me.) But no dead fish. A little hungry so time DOES still seem to pass but not near as bad as before.
I'm well on the way to finding all the mystery fish.
