If you could never sell anything your prices were too high . As with most games it takes a little time to get the swing of it and to get rolling but in fish tycoon once you get rolling the money comes in pretty quick. Gotta love the crimson fire-arrow

I know what your feeling Ivory Rose, have you tried the halloween mod? It puts a little life back in the game I've never tried Fish Tycoon, is it just as fun as VV?

I must be easy. lol I'm still enjoying it. I keep trying differant ways to play. I'm trying now to get people past there 70. Even though it says I had one live to 101 I never saw them. I want to see someone get that old. And also trying to finish with same villagers I started out with. Haven't did that yet. Can't even say I came close. )

If you keep your game on 1/2 speed, you can finish all the puzzles (except the cemetary which requires a death) with all your original villagers. There is good news/bad news about 1/2 speed. Good news, they don't age as quickly but you can get tech points just as quickly. Bad news is.. they don't age as quickly so takes longer to nurse and the kids to grow up. But, I've completed all puzzles with only 14 adults... it can be done... takes LONGER.. but doable. There's a lot more to the 1/2 speed issue as far as food goes, the food bin does not go down as quickly so you don't "have" to farm as much. Which, is good news since it takes a lot longer for the crops to come up and subsequent renewing.

I have restarted so many games it's not funny - after I hit 90 and solve all the puzzles I let them run for a while, but when nothing happens, I just restart! I honestly love starting the game - every time I do something different happens. Right now I've got two games going where I've named people after my bell choir and my choral society. It's a stitch to watch "Agnes" run around in circles worrying about food - can't seem to grasp how to forage. So much like her namesake who just FUSSES when she can't play something but won't try to do the actual task! Honestly this game has so many dimensions and variations I can't see myself getting bored!

BTW - one of my villages ran down to three children. My farmers had all died and the others didn't seem to be able to harvest so they died of starvation. I kept the kids alive with mushrooms and by george, when I opened the game up the next time they'd all turned 14 and were busily havesting a fishing. Glad they weren't dumb like their parents.

When you start a village, does make you wonder how THESE guys were the only ones "smart" enough to get off the other island. Surprised they knew how to row the boat!!! Course, if the knew how to do anything, there wouldn't be a game. Still, never ceases to amaze me that a villager, who can't figure out how to pick up a basket and put berries in it, suddenly gets the bright idea they can go into the ocean and catch a fish with their bare hands. Even in this game, miracles do happen as sometimes they actually can accomplish this. Personally, I like finding out "what happens if I do this (a given scenario)?" I'm curious by nature - many things in this game appear to be random which keeps me guessing.

I know. And someone in their society had to have to be able to build a boat. Wish I could have gotten him/her.

There is doubt in the minds of some VV players about the oldest villager statistic being correct. No one seems sure to have seen a live villager as old as the one given in the stats. I've been running some tests to figger it out one way or another. See the "Well . . . Hello, I'm a refugee from RA!" for more on the Ages issue.

My oldest is listed as 80, and I saw him when he was 79, so so far, it seems working alright for me. Can I expect this mis-recording in the future?

HEY!!!!!!!! What happened to the tagliner?!?!?!?! Have "we" forgotten this is one of "our" jobs?!?!?!?! You may be retired but SOME of us still depend on you. I'll have you know, when you were gone for two weeks, I was hovering over the message board like a vulture waiting for your return. no pressure

Thinking... scary, I know.... but maybe the villager that comes onto the island with some building skill eventually learned how to row that boat. I remember reading on the other board where one real-live 14yr old boy surmised that the "smart" ones died trying to get the idiots in the boat. I failed to see the logic in saving the village idiots - how did they think these idiots were going to survive if they couldn't even recognize a berry bush was FOOD? One of the "smart" ones should have been "smart" enough to realize they needed to be on that boat. Applying real-world logic just ruins the game. HAHAHAHA

BTW... tried raising your hand... managed to raise my own, does that count?

Okay Barbara,

WOULD like to know how you got the bigger animated "graemlin" on your post. Not that I would be able to understand what you tell me, but one can always hope. Those guys are REALLY cute!!!!!!!!

Well, these fine babies don't come standard with the forum software. They're special!

They can be had for a price from www.smileycons.com and work with just about everything from email to IM.

I kind of started an epidemic of them on the forums earlier this year, but I still tend to be more restrained in their use than Warren (TheVillageIdiot) is.

Thank you ... they ARE adorable!!! I'm quite sure my husband would NOT think they are worth ANY price... sniff, sniff. Ah vell... such is life. At least the link is here for others... "villagers" who either aren't bears themselves or are smart enough not to marry one.
