I thought i was the only person on earth who did that. I played Untima: Quest of the Avatar on the old school Nintendo before I knew they even made books for games, and I was always so frustrated trying to remember where to boy certain armors and weapons and herbs and where the moon gates led, that I made my own guide. It was over 100 pages lopng and includes world maps, maprs of the villages, lists of what each person you spoke to said, etc. I think I was more obsessed with making the guide than the game after a while. LOL. When I played FF7 on the ps and later on the ps2, i made my own books there as well because i couldn't bear to use the published ones, or even really the ones online. It felt like cheating. I felt so much more pride when I figured out how to beat Emerald Weapon and Ruby Weapon on my own, than if I had used a book to tell me how.

I agree since you're playing the game while you draw (at least I did). I used quad paper to draw my maps of the differnt levels. I was happy when Nintendo came out with all the previous Zelda games so they could be played on the GameCube. I still had my original NES system and a dozen or so games when I gave it away.

Now I'm feeling old... When I made my comment above, I was refering to the original Adventure games. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossal_Cave_Adventure

I've just completed a game in 82 hours.

I wasn't trying to go fast, it just happened. I do have a theory, though. In the middle stages when I was beginning to build up the population the balance of the sexes was wrong, with many more boys than girls. When I got up to 30 I had 18 men, 7 kids (mostly boys) and only 5 women (none nursing at that time). That meant that even though the women spent a good part of their lives nursing, not so high a proportion was 'unproductive', as the men carried on working. Does that make sense?

59 hours!

Lucked up and got both an adult runner and a child runner. Also had plenty of females. Both of those made all the difference!
