Òk, we all think of ways to get rid of the dreaded GC right?? Right! I was down to 3 adult women and the GC when I closed it out, when I reopened, my game has gotten rid of him for me. He was the one who found a book and took off to find a quiet place to read it (never to be seen or heard of again), LOL. Now I am down to just 3 adult women. Hope for a crate full of babies!! Go Game, lol.

I have one villager named Rongo and under his dislikes is Dancing, so he refuses to dance when the GC throws a party. I wish I had more like him!

In one game, I have twins who don't like dancing and another villager besides. It's always fun to seem them just ignore the partying that goes on around them.

One time, when I opened the game, a GC was "stuck" on a hut. He wouldn't move from that spot. I realized something was different when the bush, crops and food bin didn't get his special "touch", but he still called the parties!

I tap the little drum to call the children to school and he comes running with them. I also now have GC collect mushrooms. Makes him useful.

Have only just got my GC and he's done his job of solving remaining puzzles. God, he's annoying - does he grow older, or get sick, or die?? Tried dropping him back into the lagoon that he came from but that didn't work. Am I now lumbered with him???

unless you are lucky enough to get an event that makes him dissappear, yes, you are stuck with him

I find him a bit creepy - almost like a cult leader. He seems to put all of the villagers in a trance, or as if he has hypnotised them to do as he commands. So all he does is form some rainbow and bubbles, and all of the zombie villagers drop what they're doing and "dance"? Where's the discipline?

Is it just me, or does anyone else derive pleasure by picking up the GC and shaking him?

Nope, I to give him a good little shake from time to myself.
Right now, I have GC collecting the mushrooms. Gives him something to do besides throwing parties. I am longing for the day he finds the Book of Pearls and disappears.

I;ve done that - he doesnt carry anything over there - his hands are empty - but it does say "watering the field" under his actions - looks funny cuz you wonder what he is watering it with lol - but ALL the villagers will follow and get the field watered once he starts to do it

Check their dislikes, they may dislike dancing and that may be why they don't join. I've had a few like that on the villages that have the GC.

Check their health status too - sometimes a weakened status or elderly status will make them actually take forever to get to the Village Center (also if they dislike crowds they wont participate in parties either)

Ok, I'm sticking my neck out here. I have 5 villages established and have 1 non-GC village. I had an orange message box one day, one of those yes/no to opening a crate. I always say yes to these, in fact, didn't even notice it was the GC who found it, anyway, he was bitten and died.

Now, as a "refugee" from the RA forum, a little history of this now. I posted a thread called "Ding Dong the GC's Dead", you know to the tune of ding, dong the witch is dead from the Wizard of Oz, quite gleeful of "killing" off my GC.

This was a very popular thread, was even bumped up as someone's favourite "trick" post, I think. Anyway....

if you take the time to read a poem I wrote, in Carla's poetry thread, called "Letter to Arthur", I have done a complete u-turn regarding the GC. THERE I SAID IT!! HAHA!!

Anyway, the point of this rather rambling post is, that, it seems the main complaint (well at least mine was) his throwing parties when there are skeletons waiting for burial. Personally, I don't mind the parties, other then at that time. I'm not into a lot of control, just let my VV's go with the flow.

Arthur and co. created the GC for whatever reasons, personally I think his favourite childhood book was "Peter Pan", haha, and his faults are what they have created.

You can't blame him really, he's a 5 yr. old orphan. It kind of reminds me a little bit of that old Tom Hanks film, "Big", and the GC is after all, trapped in Arthur's creative web.

I think that if the GC was modified this character could be a useful VV addition!!

And by the way, they still like to dance a lot in my non-GC village, just not on the skeletons, haha!!

Best of Irish,
Maura

The parties do sometimes get on my nerves, especially when it's on the skeletons of the dead. If I'm feeling really mean I wait until he throws one and then pick him up and drop him as far as possible into the ocean - the others carry on partying without him and by the time he's got back they've all gone back to work. How sad am I??!

I've also changed my opinion about the g.c. Once the puzzles are solved and you've bought everything you can... why not throw parties?!?!? I torture my villagers till everything is done, it's time for them to have fun. My g.c. throws back-to-back parties, sometimes 4-in-a-row (he starts another one before the villagers are finished dancing from the previous one). I'm glad he does, gives the elderly time to come to the party and dance with the rest of the villagers. If I want to train a 14 yr. old, the party is a welcomed relief from all the traffic. I just grab the kid and have them practice a particular task again without all the commotion from the other villagers. Was going to let all my villagers die of old age and leave the g.c. by himself, got a change of heart (thanks to Maura's poem) and now keep at least one kid around to keep the little guy company. He's just a little kid who's programmed so that he can't ever grow up. Kinda sad, BUT, he's always happy and wants your villagers to be happy, too. After everything I put my villagers through to get to that point, they need a break from me and the g.c. is just the one to do it.

My GC, Big Payne, was the islander who got to open a crate filled with spiders. Big Payne was bitten, weakened and sick. Aha, now I can get rid of him. I wouldn't let anyone heal him (I should be ashamed); kept doing this for about an hour. The little bugger didn't get any weaker and I kinda got bored of moving the Michael Jackson wantabe around while ignoring my other villagers. Needless to say, he's as healthy as a horse now.

I've tried that also. The GC may get sick, but they don't get sicker if not healed. Eventually someone will heal him.
