*sigh* I keep dragging my builder to work on the ruins and after working on the ruins once she keeps going back to trying to water the field. I don't want her do to the field right now. The same thing was happening when I wanted her to clear the blockage to the lagoon, she kept insisting on cleaning up the beach first. No matter how many times I drag her to what I want to do, she keeps going back to what she wants to do. I'm also upset when the second hut keeps getting worked on by villagers that aren't even set for building. It's already at 54% and I didn't want it worked on at all. I'm not ready to have a larger village yet. This is so frustrating... Is there no way to punish these villagers?

That's just how the game works when you have multiple building projects started at the same time. The villagers are free to choose any available work that is consistent with their skills (guided by, but not slavish to, your selection of their preferred skill). If you want to make sure that your builders work on a specific project, make sure that's the only thing they have to work on. With the exception of huts, they will not work on something that you haven't initiated (although they may occasionally be curious about things). You gave them "permission" when you gave them options!

I guess I wouldn't care so much what my builder works on except that I'm trying to train her up to a master builder and as far as I can tell she doesn't get better in building from watering the field.

I know I know, I need to lighten up, it's only a game.

its only an addicting game

we all get like this about our villagers...

only thing you can really do is babysit them and keep dragging them back to what you want them to do, or let them water the feild until it blooms...

I've yelled at my builders quite a bit for refusing to do what I want them to do...i of curse never have more than two builders, it takes them longer to get projects done, but it ensures that the skills available from each project only go to those particular villagers

Actually, cleaning up the beach is much more important than clearing away the blockage or building the ruins. Sometimes you just have to exit the game for a while and let them work on their own, they seem to get more done that way.

i've noticed that too...at first i thought it was watched pot syndrome, where it just felt like they got less done, but i've noticed that my village actually gamed everything faster when it was smaller and I didn't keep the app open, than when it got larger and I would occassionally forget to close the app and just minimize it.
