It does not appear to work that way. It seems the likes/dislikes are completely random.

I wish it worked that way, but that has not happened for me. My favorite vv is Chapa, a runner she has had three babys with reg vv's.. no runners. I have another game going that had runner twin guys, I had them repopulate my villiage. They had 30 babies aprox..Only one was a runner another boy So anyway I would like to see a guy runner and a girl runner get together but then maybe our screens would blow up

LOL! I made a runner into a breeder and he was in and out of the hut before his chosen mate ever even got there! It was a hoot watching him run around "embracing"!
