I am writing a guide for the game and im calling on you people for additional material. Anything youd want to see in a guide yourself, such as tips, tricks, hacks, general guidance, anything and everything please post it here, Barbara mark the subject however you want im sure spoilers will end up in here. I want this to be as comprehensive of a guide as possible and its impossible for me to search thounsands of topics looking for that one hint i forgot. So enlighten me with your tips players. I have included all the event outcomes listed, puzzle solutions, strategies, and my account of an easy game from beginning to end with all my tips inside. Its growing to 25+ pages so lets make it the best vv guide that can be written. No i wont show it to you before its done Thanks in advance for anyones help.

Im looking for such things as "multiple mushrooms by kids picking up the same mushroom, speed breeding, and things like that. Purple mushrooms to see better." Anything and everything.

Thanks!!

Well one thing people found trouble with was in changing the mushroom colour.. and ending up with a white box around the objects in the carrying.png file. I'm not sure MSPaint can do it, but most higher-end paint programmes should allow you to set the white background transparent, either in the save dialog box, or as an option while editing the file.

I used fireworks for this, If you open a PNG in fireworks and save it as a png the transparency is preserved. I have bright purple and bright blue mushrooms

Another thing i was thinking about changing the fish of fertility to like the crimson fire arrow or something else from fish tycoon just to see how it would work lol...

Did you see my posting about multiple mushrooms?

Here are some other tips, etc. I've come up with:

1) When training a "healer" I'll sometimes put him/her on another of the special plants. The villagers can still learn about healing there (I don't know if there is any speed difference) but since there aren't always kids or other "curious" villagers around it makes it easier to keep track of the "medical school."

2) When training a builder and there is a hut on the "west side" of the village that is being built, I'll sometimes wtach whether the builder is going for a rock or some wood. If it is the rock, I'll "start that class again" until he/she goes for a wood. The reason is that that skill isn't learned until (maybe) after adding the material to the new hut, and the time spent to the material and back is shorter for the wood. BTW, when the builders are fixing the huts, I've never seen their skills improve when the hut is in good repair.

3) It is quicker to train a farmer via foraging than fishing or harvesting/planting/watering.

4) I didn't discover this, but I'll add to my "training class." When training the scientists, watch for that little "side-step." That is when the tech points are earned, as well as adding to their skills.

5) And to complete the set: Parenting skills are only earned by the parent who initiates the "kiss." As other have said, if the population doesn't increase immediately, just pick up one and try again, even if they are on the way to the "love shack." A Villager will there preferred job set as "parenting" will always try to "romance" the first villager on the details list of the appropriate gender (as long as he/she isn't sick or already nursing.)

I'll post more later...

As a general hint, it helps to think of VV less as a shoot 'em up game to rack up points, and more as a challenge of managing population and resources. The healthier and happier people are, the more they're likely to produce, and signing on to the idea of planned parenthood at the beginning isn't a bad idea. More children than your salary can support is a nightmare

I always dress my "healers" in the last outfit - men in white shirts and women in the green dress with the necklace. Then I can find them fairly quickly. If a child is born dressed like that already, then I set him/her to heal as much as possible.

What did you mean by fireworks? Is it a program? I'd like to recolor things, but all I have is MS Paint and so far it's not working. I know there alot of paint programs out there but currently they are out of my budget range.

smart_brat, go to www.download.com (CNet's site), and do a search for paint program. You should find some freeware programs that do a heap of nice things

If your village is full but you still want to max out one of your villager breeding skill you drop that villager into other villager much as possible without waiting for them to go inside just drag him to other villager again and again because of full village the female villager shouldn't have babies but she can still gain breeding skill
