I have Virtual village (paid for edition), and in the Hard mode, I cannot seem to get my four adults and one child past the second level of farming before they all die off from (it seems hunger).

It is such a dissapointment, as if I get a new (The one in the bushes) master farmer, she dies before I can either reach the third level of farming/second level of construction.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal?
I have version 1.01, and purchased it from big fish games.
I do not have this problem with the easy/medium modes.
