I have a nursing mother, is says she is nursing for 120 minutes, but I have had the game running for at least 3 hours solid today and nothing!! She is still carrying around the baby.

Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

It's mostly likely not a glitch. There are two primary causes for the nursing timer to behave that way. Please look at this post and this post to see if either of those applies to your situation.

Oh... I think she drank something.... But I have had to change the time too, so it could be both.

How do you start a new game in a different slot?

Go to the menu, select New Player, choose a free slot, name your game and press ok.

It's actually called Change Player, and it's located in the upper right corner of the Menu screen.
