My berry bush is all the way gone and I don't know what else to do for food. I'm trying to get mushrooms, but that isn't enough food! Please can an experienced player help me!!!

Well, I have to assume you don't have level 2 of farming yet. So your only hope it to get enough tech points so you can "buy" it. So, put your game speed down to 1/2 speed, put everyone but one villager on the table. Put the other villager to farming and as soon as she/he unloads the basket, drag him/her back to the bush, and keep hunting them mushrooms. Hopefully they will make it.

Ummm....her berry bush is depleted, so she should put every adult on research and have the kids pick 'shrooms as they appear.

And if she has multiple kids, then pausing the game to be able to move all the kids to the 'shroom will multiply the number of 'shrooms that are picked. But this needs to be done quickly since the 'shroom will disappear (even in pause mode) and only the kids that were successful will bring a 'shroom to the food bin.
