Does it matter whether they water the crops or not?
I have 2 games going and in one i get loads of crops to havest but in the other there is only half the amount. Is this because most of them are researching instead of watering them?

No watering the crops, like planting, has no effect on the farm.

But it does continue to build a villager's farming skill, and they will become a Master Farmer much sooner. It all depends upon what you're going for.

Thanks for that, so really it's kind of pointless letting them water the crops if they're already master farmers.
