I want to commend the developers for this game. It is a fantastic game to teach youngsters about life. I do not know if that was the mission of the developers when they created it, but as a 52 year old woman I certainly see it that way.

This game is addictive, emotional and makes you think about making the best moves to keep your tribe alive in surviving, especially in the first two generations. Lots of life lessons to be learned from those two generations.

I have two games running and those two tribes are doing well. I have just encountered the GC. He can be a problem as I am seeing.

One thing that impacted me on this game was to lose my original characters. I actually cried when they died. They worked so hard. Seeing my 2nd generation starting to die off has hurt also.

Now the newer generations have life easier and tend to screw off more ie. relaxing, doing laundry, exercising..etc. I am still looking to get level 3 for medicine and they are ho hum. Put the GC in the scenario and it is oh well...he gives us everything.

Long and short of it, it is a game of life. I hope everyone reflects on your forefathers and what they did for you to get here.

Terrific training tool and conversation starter for your family with kids! Highly recommend the developers to market it that way and would love you to contact me, because I have ideas on how to do it!

Thanks! Can't wait to see the next installment.

I agree. My eleven year old daughter loves this game, and I'm glad she plays it, as it really teachs her about life, and responsibilites. She takes her responsibilites in her current game of VV seriously, and I'm very proud.

Its so hard these days to find a sutible game for children. Most of the games I see have guns, fighting, and killing. Its fine for thoose people who enjoy them, but I don't think it's appropriate for children to play. I'm very pleased to finally find a game that is fun and educational at the same time, and something which the whole family can get pleasure out of!

I also can't wait for the second chapter of Virtual Villagers!

im an avid believer that guns fighting and violent games dont make bad people. But i also agree that peaceful games such as this one have a better "educational" value on life. The others are just entertainment. But thats only because i grew up on the other kind and i think im a great person lol! But i have to agree with the original poster, if and when i have a kid, games like this are where i would hope he/she starts.

Generally I would agree with Joseph. I don’t think you can trace any violent crimes back to the games they play, but by playing some of these games it can desensitize people to violence. And by desensitizing them; they seem to lose some moral qualities as well. Especially if they do not have a strong moral foundation to begin with. But I digress.

VV does have a lot of teachable attributes, and I have thought for some time to write a biblical lesson plan using the game as the illustration. The plan would be to give each person the game and have them play it throughout the week. Some points would be:

We want the villagers to pick berries, but they are so worried about food, they just run around. God want’s us to live for him, but we get so worried about our problems, that we just run in circles, not thinking that he is the way to fix it.

Or, when the storm comes and washes away all of our food, the GC has a party, and we just join in, instead of taking care of ourselves.

If anyone would like to add any others, please post here if you like.

BB, if you feel this is not appropriate, please delete the post here comment and change to PM.
