After I opened one of my VV games yesterday and found all 90 of my villagers dead except the GC and 4 two year olds, I figured it looked pretty grim....sure enough...today there was only the GC left. I have read that no events will happen without adults....Is this game lost or can something happen to re-start things? I have just put all my games on pause and may just leave them that way for a while. I am SO upset that everyone died for no apparent reason. There were no events that popped up when the game opened. The poor little GC was still trying to have a party though.....even all by himself...LOLOL Somethings NEVER die....LOLOL

If no events happen without adults (which may or may not be true i dont know) then you are lost

The onyl way your village could come back is if an event occured bringing you babies or a couple events that happen to bring another villager into the tribe. Otherwise its over.

My village went from 90 to 21 last night because they were all around the same age. Time to call on the love doctor to bring me some more

It may be too late to check it now, but there's a game log that contains information about what happened to your villagers while you were away. This post explains how to access the game log.

Game wipes (as we refer to them) are usually caused by a cascading series of circumstances, such as doctors/farmers getting sick with nobody to heal them, then running out of food, then starvation. The only way to know for sure, however, is to check the game log immediately after quitting the game.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunatley I did not do that right after I realized that something had happened and now of course there is no info....bummer. I guess I will never know what exactly caused all my villagers to die... Anyway....can you tell me if it is POSSIBLE to grow your village with only the GC alive...or do I just need to start a new game? Thanks for the other info....I have had instances where I would open the game and 20 or 30 had died and I did not know why....but at least I had other villagers to start over with...so...now I know how to find out what happened...

Thanks again,
dnaraz

Hmmmm....I'm not absolutely certain of the answer to your question. Since I don't do the programming, I don't know if the Island Events that would help you will happen or not. Technically, the GC is a child, even though he's a special one who can make his own food and survive for quite a while (if not indefinitely) on his own. I don't know if the game is programmed to allow barrels of babies and the like when there are no adults to take care of them. If I were you, I'd keep running that game just to see what happens, and start another game in a different player slot. If you give up now, you'll never know how it could have turned out.

I've been running one with only the GC since 9/15/06 and have not had one event. But I'm going to let it run and see what happens.

I have a question I restarted one of my Villages (because I had 3 with only the GC now only one) a very strange thing is going on with the childern now, all the babies that are born hum when you pick them up no giggles just humming every last on of them and I have never heard this before. Has anyone had this happen?? It sound like a fly or a mosquito.

There are only a few sounds that children make (and the hum is one of them), and sometimes they all make the same sound - it just happens that way sometimes.
