MY GC in one game read the book and forever disappeared, never to be heard from again!

No more parties! But now my villagers need to work a bit harder since the crops and berries aren't restored immediately.

Does anyone know if a bring a nursing mother to the lagoon will I get a new GC, or is it only once per game?

I may try that later, but for now I'm thrilled about the GC-free Isola!

What book did the GC read???? I didn't make a GC in my current game, but if there's a book that can make it disappear then I could complete all the puzzles in this one. Do tell, what book?

Wow, I will have to tell this to my friend who's been playing for a month and who thinks nothing else can happen.

Yes, it was an event, and I also got "lucky" that the GC found the book.

And just the other day I asked if there was a "good" outcome to the book event. Now I know! LOL!

Did you try to make another one?

I just wish the GC grew up so he could have kids of his own. Then grow old and die.

Yes, I did try, and no, it doesn't let you make another Golden Child.

He really hinders the game. My research ppl get nothing done especially!

I am holding off getting him on my 2nd game until all my Medicine is level 3 to extend the lives of my guys. Then I will bring him on.

Yes I wish he grew up as well so he could do something but farming and partying. Seems kinda dumb he has all this skill and uses hardly any of it.

I feel awful, but I'm trying to kill my GC. He got sick, and I am not letting anyone heal him. So far, he has been sick for about 1/2 hour in fast mode, and hasn't died yet. I live in hope and guilt!

I've had a GC get sick before, but I was unable to stop a Doctor from finding him and curing him.

I think she means that book that comes up in one of the events, that if the villager keeps to himself, turns him loony or he disappears after a while or some such bad outcome

In another game (with a functioning GC) I got an event where many of my villagers got sick, including the GC!

I let the doctors heal everyone else and kept distracting them from the GC, or moving him out of the way when they came to cure him.

I currently have that game on pause (and 2x speed when not paused), and I'm going to see if I can keep a close watch to see if he gets sick enough to die. I also have all of my villagers with any healing skills "distracted" by other jobs so they are less likely to be in "ambulance mode."

Wish me "luck" in killing him!

But I agree, it's nice not to have any parties, and I have enough farmers that I'm not worried about food.

<sigh> The GC got sick, and his status lowered, but never seemed to change. Since I didn't have any "assigned" doctors, about eight other villagers also got sick and there was a whole crowd in the "clinic."

Occasionally villagers with healing skills (and even some without) would try to heal someone. Sometimes it worked, but if they were going towards the GC I moved one or both of them away to distract the mission.

With enough other villagers sick, I thought that I could let the game run for a while without watching every move, but eventually someone "healed" the GC.

The only successful part of this experiment was that while the GC was sick, he didn't call any parties (or restore the crops, berries, etc.)

Yeah, my GC got sick when I opened the crate with the rats, but I had 2 master healers and he slipped past me and got healed.

Yippee! Again! In another game, an event came up that asked whether the villager should eat the berries or not. It was my GC, and when he ate them, they turned out to be the poisonous snails and he died immediately!

OMG, that happened to my GC just month ago! At first I was excited ("finally, back to the hardships!"), but then i realized he hadn't finished the cave puzzle. I cried, and started all over (now trying to kill him again somehow). Oh, and the name of the game (the change player thing) was "GC"

LOL... I tried that recently, but he only got grievously injured, so now I have a weakened GC.
