I found out that I do not need to wait for the couple I've picked to come out so I can find out whether they have a child I want. I just keep dragging the man on the woman till the woman appears with a baby in her arms.
This less time wasting too!
But if the developers want to take away this exploitation, I am compliant with it.

That is a feature! It's been around since the village sims game for palm. From what I understand LDW has no intentions to remove it, so play on!

I accidently discovered that too. I noticed once that as soon as my couple kissed, the population count went up by one. But I thought they still had to go to the hut. Then one day I accidently picked up the woman after they'd kissed and the count went up. When I put her down a baby appeared in her arms. I don't know if this happens for everyone - success as soon as they kiss. But it sure saves time, especially when the father is elderly. Those poor men hardly ever make it to the hut before the woman comes out with the baby anyway.

Yes, it's the kiss that either works or doesn't. Sometimes I'll just keep on having the couples "kissing" over and over again until I see the count goes up.

Once I was trying to recover my population quickly after a bunch of geriatric babyboomers died, so I picked a male and had him go around "kissing" each of the females until they each started nursing. I don't think he went into the shack at all, the cad.

LOL! I do the same thing!

And boy does that male's breeding rating go up and the poor women's doesn't. I've had a female kiss the same male multiple times to get a baby and even after she had the baby, her breeding bar only went up a smidgeon.

It depends on which mode I'm in whether I have the females or males initiate the "romance." If I'm trying to control the population, I only have the females start. They'll usually succeed at some point... It helps if they have "breeding" checked. If I just want to keep the population going I'll pick one male from each "generation" and with 2-3 in the village with "parenting skills" they keep the village population growing as it can.

I usually kiss until they succeed then let them go into the hut for appearances sake hehe. I had one old guy so slow that he ended up going in with another couple who had kissed later on lol.

Males shouldn't be Trainee/Adept/Master parents either; starting the baby is not parenting!

I do this too. All my female villagers older than 18 are nursing at the moment, and I don't have any kids old enough to work but too young to have babies, so the men are doing all the work at the moment.

All my twins and triplets were from "hut-free" kisses! And I almost never have the men "checked" for Breeding, because I do not want any of my Grammas dying with a baby in her arms.

I found in one game, it was one of my female villiagers, Ginger, that was going after the guys. No sooner was she finish nursing one baby, she was off after another male. I had to keep a track of "hot pants." All she did was breed. When she died at 66, Ginger had 22 children. No wonder the words "Master Parent" was written on her tombstone.
