I've been playing for some time and have only have three events occur. How often do events occur? I play on double-time and pause when I am not going to be at the computer for awhile.

Although it depends upon many factors, most people don't see the Island Events more often than about every 20 or so hours - sometimes much less frequently.

On average around one per 20 yours of played time. I do not pause my games (have three going at the moment) and I get one a day on each.

But as they say, your mileage my vary.

Thanks. I've probably been playing 50-60 hours. I got the compass for 3000 tech points and then almost immediately got the monkey messing up the research for -1800 points and then a crate of spiders that made one of my people sick. This is my first game so I'm being cautious.

Right now I have a population of 16 (no deaths) and did 7 of the first 8 puzzles (not the graveyard ... no deaths. ) Since I am fairly food-worry-free, I am working at getting the population up.
