I bought this and it's the stupidest thing I've ever played. It's completely 100% pointless.

I've tried it six times now and every time after about 6 hours or so I end up with all villagers dead.

The berry patch runs out, and there's no way to get more food.

I've tried dropping villagers on top of every possible place on the island. All I get is "additional research may be necessary," or they just shake their heads. If I drop them on the research table, they make little to no progress, or shake their heads. I could get them to clear the beach, but when I try dropping them in the water, I get "your villagers don't know how to fish." I try to water the "strange patch," and I get "need better water." I try clearing stones in the upper left, "additional research may be necessary."

The tech points build so slowly there's no possible way I can get enough for anything other than building before all villagers die.

This is the most tedious, unfun, pointless game I've ever played.

I tried reading the guide on the forum here but all it says is "you need to get more food than the berry patch." Well there's no way to do that.

I want my money back. If the company won't credit my card I'm doing a charge back. This is definitely not what I believed I would be buying based on the way it was advertised.

The place I bought mine from had a free trial first.

Definately reread the stat guide. It makes a world of difference if you hold onto your tech points and build them up to buy farming first. It makes all the difference in the world in this game.

Yes, obviously there's no way to progress in this game. I guess all the people here posting about beating it several times and loving it so much are just blowing smoke. :rolleyes

You need to figure out the right order to do things in to carry things out more efficiently. For example, I started out not having any babies other than the one the tutorial prompted me to have, so this meant less mouths to feed. I set one villager on research, and the rest collecting berries constantly. The first tech thing I bought was for farming, which helps with food, and though I got a few other things in between the first thing I maxed out was also farming because food is really the first priority. Whenever I wasn't so low on food I set -all- the villagers on research. Then I'd turn off the game with it going at 2x and come back every hour or so to make sure they were doing okay. You can advance pretty fast this way and it isn't as tedious if you aren't watching it constantly. Be sure to pause it when you'll be away for more than a few hours though.
Of course this is only my first game, so you may not want to listen to me, but aside from a few tense moments where they were short on food and I had them picking berries nonstop, I've been doing pretty well. IT just takes planning, not constant running around trying to make the villagers do things they aren't advanced enough to do yet.

Maybe you should put it on easy until your figure it out.

I had to restart the game several times before I figured out the order of things.... I promise it's not impossible...and you can live off of mushrooms for a little while, I did, until you get what you need to have a endless supply of food.

Odd you should say that it's impossible to make progress. I've already completed the 15/16 puzzle scenario haivng lost no villagers in easy and normal mode... now near finishing a Hard Mode one and will achieve the same thing.. needing only the graveyard to finish. Suggest you take previous advice and start in Easy mode. You need tech to improve your farming, so allocate most of your villagers to researching rather than clearing the beach which isn't useful anyway until you can buy farming tech 3. The game is simply about managing people and resources sensibly.

never fear friend... the game can be fun. you just need to get your farming up with tech points. there are indeed other ways to get food

I have also re-started the game 6 times because I can't seem to get 50000 tech points before all my food runs out. Can some-one please give me a detailed root to achieve this . I have had the food way up there and I have mastered the research part BUT.. I never manage to get more than 12000 tech points.

Another thing is not to let your villagers get distracted by all of the puzzles and construction projects that would take them away from their primary goal of surviving. It's a good idea to delay working on the puzzles and/or purchasing most of the other techs until your villagers can fish.

Umm.. I think you misunderstood sarah 7580's intent. Sounded to me like she was responding to the original poster of the topic with sarcasm

I had to restart alot but in the end I managed to get lots of food and then the game ran good. If you just want to get through it fast then keep changing your pc clock ahead alittle bit. At first only change it by 1 or 2 hrs then later on changing it 1 day will make the game go faster. If a villager is working on something and you change the time ahead when you come back it will be done.I got through the entire game in 8 hrs with the game running on 2x

Why don't you just play tic tac toe for a while you you grow up enough to figure out its a stratagy game and requires some thought? If you could win it in 6 hours why bother?

when you spend more time off the game than you do on it.. it isn't much fun anyway and besides I wanted to see the game in its entirety and I did so now I've restarted and I'm letting it play through on its own. I check in when I can.I think alot of people have done the same thing just to see what this game is all about wthout wasting all their free time that could be better spent in the real world, remember the real world or have you gotten lost in cyber space?

I finished the game in a week, it's pretty easy

I also want to add that I've realized with this game you are constantly waiting for the tech points and even if you have all your villagers researching, the points go up really slow. I just don't have patience for a game that says it's made up of stratagy when in fact it's more of a wait and see game. If anyone were to just sit and interact with this game they would never sleep. Can you explain to me the strategy of that? I guess it's a great game for those of you who are housebound and have no outside hobbies.
I really never thought you were so petty as to tell some-one they should grow up when in fact you are the one who should and while you're at it, get some brains or better, a life away from cyber space. Wanna hint... get a job.
