I'm curious - is there any difference between the Virtual Villagers game bought directly from LDW and one purchased through another service like Real Arcade? I ask because I have noticed folks discussing aspects of the game I have never seen on mine, such as the red mushrooms, and villagers picking hundreds of mushrooms, compared to my paltry dozen. I got my game via Real Arcade.

The game itself is identical. The only difference in the different versions of the game is the digital rights management software (DRM) "wrappers" that the various portals use and the various logos that are added for branding purposes. Since each site uses a different implementation of DRM software, the registration codes are not interchangeable: A registration code from RealArcade, for example, won't work with the version from our site.

The mushrooms have to be hand-picked, so to speak. People who have found hundreds or thousands of mushrooms have been very busy searching for mushrooms and plopping kids on them.
