Why does he sometimes have an event out in the middle of nowhere? It'll look like he's magically done something but nothing changes

he does that a lot... lol

If you click on him it says making a party. I find it really annoying and I want to kill off the little freak. I wish he would get old and die. Maybe they could have a shrine to him in the corner of the grave yard if necessary. He disrupts all my villagers! He is the bane of my village life at the moment!

Apparently, there is one event with a beautiful berry bush that can kill off the gc. I have never tried it.

Do you know where I can get more information on how to kill off my GC?

You can't really initiate the killing of the GC. You'd have to hope for one of two or three events to happen, and then they'd actually have to involve the GC specifically, for you to choose the "bad" outcome.
