Currently, after all the tech levels are bought, there is no more need to do research and all the scientists abandon the research table altogether. Children who mature after this do not do research anymore so there is only farming and healing left (and breeding, if you consider that a skill to master), especially when there's nothing left to build.

I'd like to suggest that the villagers still continue to ply away at the research table even when there's no need for research points so that the younger generations have a chance to master their skills. (Yeah, I have a couple of kids who are born apprentice scientists and who will never master their skills unless I forcefully keep them at the research table.) If you need a reason for them to continue doing research ... you can say that they need research points to maintain their tech levels.

I think this is an excellent idea and also think that you should need research points after you finish the puzzles so that you can keep your progress. Maybe you should have to get a certain amount of points each (year) to keep the tech you have
