PLEA FOR NEW IDEAS ON V.V.2

After playing VV1 and loving it but being wholeheartedly disappointed with the anticlimactic end to the game I had to come and post some ideas of mine for the sequel. Feel free to add your own ideas too and hopefully LDOW will answer our desperate pleas for a great sequel.
I personally still love the puzzles you have to complete (more tasks than puzzles) but would be interested to see more of these and maybe not have some of them take so long. The watering of the field was just a bit much (mainly because there was nothing to show it's progress like you get when building huts etc)
I'd love to see interaction with other villages. Maybe some trading or fighting since once the game is complete the tech points and food build up and theres nothing to do with them. How about being able to mine for gold or jewels and make things to trade. Being able to trade food for other materials and favours would be good too.
The research screen is great and I had no problems with it but for a sequel would like to see the trade research or military appear.
I've seen people complain about all the villagers looking the same and I know you can change outfits if you highlite n press F6 but I didn't like that once you got to outfit 10 the cycle didn't start again so you end up with every1 in the same clothes.
I love some1 elses idea for a family tree type thing. The spirituality research could indeed be used to have marriage cerimonies and it would be nice to see our tribes history. I had to resort to naming my villagers BOB, BOB II, BOB III etc to keep track and I agree that the big sex fest seemed a bit much sometimes. We just want a bit more control there please.
There is so much potential for this game and I do respect that game design takes alot and that the improvements cud mean larger files and more disc space, but we love the idea and thirst for more at the end.
I presently have tons of villagers, have lost count of my death toll (since once the graveyard is full you don't get stones anymore) I have millions of tech points and hundreds of thousands in food. Unfortunately, now the game is effectively over they just run around gaining skills, breeding, dying. It's soooo sad.
Please, please, please hear our thoughts and give us the fantastic ongoing sequel we beg for. No doubt if the sequel has the great potential and is received with what we would love to see, I am sure that a third V.V would still go down really well with us hardcore VV fans. Such a wonderful concept, with great simplicity. Not everyone likes the modern SIMS characters, its nice to be tribal sometimes in such a modern world.

I couldn't agree more. I'm a stay at home mom and this game is perfect for me cause it doesn't require my constant attention. I'm going crazy waiting for the second VV, now I have nothing to do with my quiet time I wouldn't like to see them have money or any type of currency though. I really like that they work as a team and they don't have the issues that the real world has. Them having marriage ceremonies sounds great, towards the end there it does start getting a bit sin city. Can't wait for the next one!!!

I like the idea of merchant technology, but military? Why do we need to cause more fighting and wars? One of the great things in the game is that there's no conquring required.
Maybe military could be in there as village defence from preditors. The next village may have a hoard of tigers nearby that will prey on defenseless villagers.

Ive made my story suggestions in two forums but not in this one, just because u want u to read it, im agree clakb77 , the game is so full of potential. Sometime I dream about Isola and tons and tons of new puzzles, such as a sunked ship, new parts of the island and paths that we must build to get there. New tipes of food coconutspapaya where is all that??, animals to eat, bonefires and civilized extrangers that once healed could help people to solve new puzzles. The Golden Child has became an old man, and after 100 or something must die, for me that would be the perfect begining to new adventures. I love the "catching the crab" activity, cooking, shamans ( talented kids only) who must research as well to get the knowledge to talk with the Golden Child ghost, he will tell the villagers to look for the forainers rescue them ( in a period of time to get them alive) and master doctors will heal them. But they losted their memory, only shamans will help them know and then they can teach us how to use the items recovered from the sunked pirate ship (explaining the treasure appeareance). After that life will be modern, and we can also have version 3....working on that now..... The forum is full of suggestions but story is totally necesary u cant put new puzzles in the same place, cause we had explored it for centuries (game time) What do u think??? im proud!

Just played vv through for the first time, loved it, and am desperate for some sort of continuation or add on! (especially if they could go into another part of the islan) I am sure these ideas have already been postd, but just in case, here goes:- exploring skills - these could be linked into either building or farming skills, so that a skillled farmer could build a boat and explore/sail off/fish for bigger fish. skilled farmer/explorer could clear land and plant more crops - these could feed animals they could learn to tame animals/keep chickens etc would love to see a campfire is there a way of generating ongoing challenges once the original puxxles have been solved? events or something to work through? and I would love an easy option (ie for the no-techie!) of being able to set this as a screen saver once the puzzles are solved.
thanks for a great game - my teens are addicted to it too!

Unfortunately I have no new ideas - there have been so many good ones already! I love the idea of having chickens! I would like the game to stay somewhat 'primitive', there is a whole island left to explore; I think if the villagers became too modern the game might be a bit boring - it was the 'start from scratch' aspect that made me interested in the first place. It might be really cool if it could be an add-on to vv1 - so you could keep some established villages and have them explore etc?

IDEAS
(what I'm trying to do with these is extend the continuing gameplay beyond the challenges)
1. Genetics Children inherit either the hair/hair colour or clothes of one of their parents.
2. Villager swap A way to swap villagers between villages. Maybe even trade them over the internet
3. Super villagers These would be villagers that you trained to master in every skill (except parenting). They should live longer, or have some special powers or something.
4. Continued research Research points should be needed for medicines or something, so that it was necessary to keep villagers researching even after you discovered everything
5. Continued building Huts should perhaps actually decay, and need repairs, or your village size gets limited again (eg if they drop below 50% condition)
6. Watering the crop This should have some kind of influence on either the speed of crop renewal, or the size of the crop. Currently it's a pointless waste of time. And annoying, because villagers get distracted from better things they could be doing.
7. Worshipping This should involve some rewards. Perhaps villagers could have a Spirituality bar (rather than the Parenting bar, which I find kind of pointless, given that you can just keep dropping absolute amateurs together until they breed). Spirituality could affect health, longevity, the chance of having triplets or something. Cool things.
8. Regular tournaments There could be a new tournament on the Leaderboard every week or month: eg for the most amount of twins born, or mushrooms picked, or Research points. Some kind of challenge to keep the sense of competition going, that also enabled newer players to compete with older ones (so it wouldn't matter if you had already picked 1,000 mushrooms, only the ones you picked for that week would count).
9. Downloadable events/puzzles/features If this were possible to extend the game, it would be great. Even if you had to pay for them (a dollar or so, like extra skins for a game). So you might pay a dollar and your villagers could puzzle out how to build the Fountain of Youth. This would perhaps extend villagers' lives. Or they might figure out how to plant the Garden of Love, which would increase twin births. Or the Mystical Observatory, which would increase research rates and add some really cool celestial-themed Special Events. Etc.
10. Reward villagers People winning tournaments, or from other lucky things, could have special villagers born. Like the Golden Child. They would wear special clothes and have special looks and powers.
