How does the speed options ( 1/2 speed, normal, 2X ) affect the game. When somebody is pregnant I/m tempted to go to 2X. Is this wise...or...!!?? I do know to put the game in pause when I cannot be there. I am using a PC/win

4 hours on normal, and 8 hours on 1/2 speed. DAYS on pause!! But she will eventually stop nursing even on pause.

Right now I've got 2 mommies, 6 kids, and 11 productive adults. With only 441 food in storage and about 250 on the Bush, we have over 200 minutes on 1/2 speed before the field is ready to harvest, but we are also in the lo-o-o-ng slow build up of tech points to 3rd level. Which is why I am in 1/2 speed so my scientists can do more research AND have a life.... But I do not want anyone to starve waiting for harvest time. Suggestions??

Are you looking for mushrooms for your kids to pick? If so, put them all on the same one so it counts that many times. If you dont know how, send me a PM so I don't spoil for all.

Over-population... When people start dying, there will be more food for the rest of them, letting your next harvest last longer.

It's the sad truth that saved my island.

Well, I did it! We learned enough to get level 3 Farming and nobody died. We now have plenty of food and Masters in research and farming. I let the Lead scientist and Master farmer make "a little whoopee" to celebrate and we now have two babies on the way. Everybodyelse went swimming and fishing. With 21 in pop and 2 more soon, I think I can finally sleep easy. Aloha and Mahalo for all the interest and good advise. Oh I'd like to suggest that the Food items all be more brightly colored and the laundry less so. That way We, nearly Elderly players, can tell what the Islanders are hauling.

Oh, While I was trying to up-date my stats, which sometimes many minutes even on DSL, My oldest Mommy and Master Researcher died at age 64... That was very sad and frustrating because I did not even get to try to be there.... On a positive note I got to see the villagers "Honor the Dead" And her favorite (but not mine) Mate is the one who buried her!? And he even went back to visit her grave latter?
So now I'm watching my elders like a Nanny and trying get them to live happy long lives. Right now they are all doing laundry... LOL
