I have thought of a way to implement genetics in VV, which is presumably possible since it was a major feature of earlier games, and there is already some parental genetics implemented regarding innate skills.

My suggestion would be to give every baby one of the characteristics of its parents (girls from the mother, boys from the father) and one totally random one. So a girl would either get her mother's clothes or her mother's face/hair, ditto a boy his father's. This way one could create predominantly red haired villages, or villagers that had mainly people wearing green.

If a more complicated system was possible, a Bb (Brown eyes/blue eyes) genetics system could take place, dependent on both parents, just as happens with us "real" (!) humans. So children would inherit and carry weak and dominant genes, which would affect their hair colour. This would involve children carrying hidden (weak/recessive) genes: eg a brown-haired child might be carrying a red hair gene from a parent/grandparent, but you couldn't tell until he bred with someone also carrying red, and both genes expressed.
