I've completed 12 of the 16 puzzles in Virtual Villagers. It has been running for three weeks since I finished my last puzzle (the idol) and the game WILL NOT produce the Golden Child. Is there something more I need to do? I've done these puzzles: the idol, the magical pond, found the fish in the pond, visited all the herbs on the island, built the hut, removed the well top, buried the villagers, made the flowers bloom, rebuilt the temple, found the treasure and converted the school. I checked online here to see if I was missing something, but it doesn't say anything?? Someone please help!

I'm at the same place you are. Have to get that GC!!! I've got 90 people, and all the same stuff you do. Level 3 on everything but Medicine. (Do you really need it?) I know you have to have Level 3 Fertility and the idol and the lagoon done (DONE!) But when you have NINETY people you can't have any more babies till someone croaks. So, I'm patiently waiting for a sick elderly woman to die. SO SAD!!!!! Then you can do the other stuff that's left on the puzzles. HOPEFULLY! I've been at this over 266 real hours. I'm ready for the GC already.

You know they breed behind your back, even when you dont' have their box checked for breeding!?!? Drives me nuts!

Sorry for the spoiler. I"m just really frustrated right now. Keep waiting for someone to die. Afraid to let it run at even half speed overnight for fear I'll miss a chance to get "him". I'm not very patient. Hate to mess anyone up either. SORRY! I'll refer them to the "cheats" page next time. It really helped me out alot. No idea how you'd figure some of the puzzles out otherwise! I like having "directions". ha Anyway, now that I have everything but level 3 science, will my villagers live to be like, 90? Is it going to be a long wait? My oldest is 66, the next 7 all are in their 50's. THen it's like a staircase to age 4. But that's it. Couple of sick villagers but someone healed them while I was away from my desk. !! I'll just play it at half speed tonight and see what awaits me at 9am. Thanks!

No prob jrvailes. I would not put it on half speed if you are trying to "kill" some villagers. Keep it a 2x. Once they start dieing off, you'll be good to go!

Thank you! I think I'll do that. ALthough it makes me a little bit nervous. Left my first game running overnight, came back and everyone was dead (only had level one of everything and they ran out of food). It was so sad. ;-) But, they have lots of food, 90 people researching and harvesting and washing clothes. Lots of excerising going on, too. So, I think I'll try your suggestion tonight and see what I get when I get back here tomorrow. This game is so addictive!! I'm so excited to see what they do in just one hour! It's great for us "obsessive" types. ;-)

You should be safe. I just checked in on two of my games of 90+ villagers. One had 89 villagers the other was down to 56. Last time I checked up on them was 5 days ago.

I didn't see that as a spoiler. I just don't know what to do! I have over 1000 real hours played (I just let it go) waiting for this Golden Child. But am I doing it wrong? Won't something pop up and tell me when he/she is born? I assumed the GC just was born and then moved the boulder on its own. Is that not correct?

Ok, I caved. I went to the spoilers page and realized the GC will be revealed when he's followed around by butterflies. I remember there USED to be butterflies flying around but now I don't see them anywhere? Did I miss my chance or will they come back? Do you know?

When you get the GC, you will get a popup screen informing you of your new star child. You do have to do something to get him. Read the spolier page that Kami posted below your original post. Once you get him, the butterflies will come back.

Ok, so I've upgraded EVERYTHING there is to upgrade, solved all the puzzles and had someone explore the cave. Am I now done with the game or can the villagers move to another part of the island?

I cant get my last 2 puzzles, and the game's been going for two days. I've got my GC, plenty of healthy multi masters, and all the other puzzles done. I cant get the butterflies(?) and the flower with the stars around it.
Otherwise this game rocks!

What about if Ive changed clothes on a villager (F6) but want to go back? -It runs thru a finite number of costumes, then stops.

Can't change back. You are stuck with what you got. All you can do is go forwards with the clothes. Sorry!

Warren, where exact is that spoiler discussion? I use the flat mode to view messages -- grew up on it, prefer it, and prefer not to read via threaded mode. If possible, if you could provide a link, my villagers will bake you a berry pie.
