I think it is funny that everyone, even the women and children have the cough of a man when they are sick.

I agree...I've had mass outbreaks of sickness from moldy food and it took soooo long to find them. Wish they would lay flat on the ground. They don't always sit down and sometimes the stupid doctors are dancing..Urrrrr!Always have plenty of doctors-they get sick too!

I think i know how to change it.

Go to C:\Program Files\Virtual Villagers then sounds and find cough1 2 or 3 and replace it with a gurl coughing sound ( im not 100% sure it will work, but save the back up just in case.

That would work but it would effect all of them since they share those files. So the men would sound like a woman at times. I wish there was another way to cure them beside dropping the healer on the sick one. After chasing this poor guy around the research bench for days and him always running. He gets sick so I tried to use her to heal him and she walks away with a baby and he's still lying on the ground sick.

I dropped a healer on a sick woman. The healer ran away thinking I was trying to mate them!

Then do it again don't wait for them to heal just keep on dropping the heal into the sick villager

I try and choose a child that doesn't have any starting skill and use them as my healer till they are old enough to work. This way it I don't have to take an adult away if I can't spare them.

try to use the kids,it gives them healing skills and doesn't interupt the activities of the audlts(i also hate going through 90 people to find a healer). if they shake their head just drop them again and again till they do, but watch out for those who don't like herbs/medicen they won't do it.
